RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS Crescendo Project Vision: To engage young patrons in a lasting relationship with the Minnesota Orchestra by presenting orchestral music to these patrons in a fun and unexpected fashion, as well as provide musical education, philanthropic and networking opportunities. Crescendo Project committee members are responsible for active engagement in the activities of Crescendo Project by utilizing their skills, talents and networks to contribute to the group’s continued success. Responsibilities of Committee Members - Be committed to the vision and objectives of CP - Actively represent and promote Crescendo Project - Be a member in good standing of CP and attend CP events - Assist in identifying and soliciting new CP members from within personal and professional networks - Make commitment to serve as a committee member in one of two ways: 1) Commit to serve as committee member for the entire season (June 1 - May 31) 2) Commit to serve on the committee to fulfill a specific role or task as defined by committee chair (length of time to be determined by specific role or task) - Attend monthly committee meetings (and notify committee chair in advance if you are unable to attend scheduled meetings) - Notify committee chair if your ability to serve on committee becomes compromised due to changes in your situation - If interested, serve on the Crescendo Project Board Nominating Committee as a representative of your committee

2011-12 Committee Member Roles COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS Development - Secure and manage corporate sponsorship(s) of CP (not event specific) in partnership with MOA Development - Facilitate member giving to the MOA (Guaranty Fund, corporate matches) - Recommended skills: fundraising experience (corporate or individual) Education - Plan member-only Behind-the-Scenes events (partner with Events to produce) - Augment Concert Night Out events with education activity, printed program and online content - Organize volunteer opportunities with WAMSO – Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association - Recommended skills: knowledge of symphonic music Events - Produce all events with MOA Special Events Manager - Plan Concert Night Out events and Happy Hour events - Secure in-kind partnerships / sponsorships for all events - Manage vendor database - Recommended skills: event planning experience Marketing - Promote all events - Manage brand equity - Manage online presence (website, Facebook, Linked-in) - Manage public relations - Approve all public communications - Recommended skills: strong communication skills, marketing experience (in particular interactive) helpful, graphic design helpful Membership - Define and promote membership proposition (fee and benefits) - Develop and implement annual membership growth plan (renewals and recruitment) - Be first point of contact for prospective and new members - Grow email contact list (members plus prospective members) - Approve all member communications - Recommended skills: strong ability to network
