Mind Monmouthshire Proposed Below are the 6 goals that Mind

Staying Well: Support people likely to develop mental health problems to stay well We will help 5000 people at risk of developing mental health problems by 2017 through wellbeing and resilience work

Empowering Choice: Empower people who live with a mental health problem to make informed choices about how they live and recover We will provide information to 10000 people to empower them to make their own decisions about their mental health

Improving Services and Support: Ensure people get the right services and support at the right time to help their recovery and enable them to live with their mental health problem We will provide, monitor and evaluate all our services in line with

Goals for 2013-17 Monmouthshire will achieve by 2017 Enabling Social Participation: Encourage and help people with experience of mental health problems to get involved in their local community Anyone who has identified a goal of social participation will leave our services in a planned way having achieved their goal

Removing Inequality of Opportunity: We will ensure all our services are culturally appropriate and available to anyone who needs them Our service demographic will match that of Monmouthshire

Achieving Organisational Excellence: Working together, delivering value for money services, we will create a culture of excellence We will achieve Mind Quality Level 3 and IIP Gold Working in partnership all our services will be the ‘value for money’ choice (of commissioners and funders)

Proposed Core Programmes Staying Well We will support people likely to develop mental health problems to stay well We will help 5000 people at risk of developing mental health problems by 2017 through wellbeing and resilience work How will we do this 

Research, together with partners, the people most at risk of developing mental health problems in Monmouthshire and how we can access them. Building on existing services, develop a needs driven Wellbeing and resilience programme Implementing a promotional strategy that provides information to at least 5,000 people to help them stay well.

Of Work Empowering Choice Empower people who live with a mental health problem to make informed choices about how they live and recover We will provide information to 10000 people to empower them to make their own decisions about their mental health How will we do this





Develop a strategy that provides, in partnership, Information and Advice to 10,000 people enabling them to make informed choices/decisions Deliver, monitor and evaluate an inclusive communication strategy to achieve the above

Proposed Core Programmes Improving Services and Support: Ensure people get the right services and support at the right time to help their recovery and enable them to live with their mental health problem We will provide services in line with people’s needs as soon as they are needed of a consistently high quality How will we do this

Research peoples experiences and perceptions of their personal and cultural needs, now and in the future, using a variety of different methods. Monitor, Evaluate and continue to improve and develop services based on peoples’ feedback.

Of Work Enabling Social Participation Encourage and support people with experience of mental health problems to get involved in their local community Anyone who has identified a goal of social participation will leave our services in a planned way and will have achieved their goal How will we do this 

Help more people with a mental health problem gain the benefits of employment, training or volunteering in their community Increase Mind Monmouthshire participation with local community groups, partners and organisations Increase public knowledge, challenge attitudes and behaviours and reduce the prejudice and unfairness experienced by people with a mental health problem

Proposed Core Programmes Removing Inequality of Opportunity Services will be culturally appropriate and available to anyone who needs them Our service demographic will match that of Monmouthshire How will we do this

Review and revise our current Equal Opportunities policies and ensure they reflect current best practice Review organisational practises to enhance cultural awareness, skills and knowledge Make necessary changes to make services flexible to the needs of anyone

Of Work Achieving Organisational Excellence Working together, delivering value for money services, we will create a culture of excellence We will achieve Mind Quality Level 3 and IIP Gold Working in partnership all our services will be the ‘value for money’ choice (of commissioners and funders) How will we do this 
