Bournemouth BH2 5EU 1 April 2012, 15H00PM – 17H00PM Mindfulness is a particular way of paying attention: with mindful intention, in the moment, without judgement. Sometimes in life, we feel isolated and are faced with stressful situations and difficulties. In an attempt to make sense of these difficulties we often and naturally so, experience fear, stress and sadness. At times we get stuck in these reactive states of mind and need some support in moving forward. Mindfulness based training is an ancient approach applicable to modern day living. It is an approach rooted in non-judgementally befriending our situation with more understanding, openness, acceptance and skill. Through this befriending we give ourselves an opportunity to foster a more positive and meaningful relationship with our situation, our very own lives and our community. Doing this can sometimes help us move forward.

facilitated by Robert Gebka Robert is a registered counsellor and mindfulness trainer practicing mindfulness based cognitive therapy & stress reduction as well as personal coaching. Robert spent five years living and working at the Nan Hua Retreat Centre where he facilitated Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and work-life balance workshops & retreats. He also served as the director of the Stress Clinic treating clients experiencing stress related conditions and spent three years in private practice in Windsor, Berkshire before journeying out on a personal retreat to the Isle of Skye in Scotland. He recently relocated to Bournemouth and now works in the mental health field for the NHS. He is available for one to one consultations at the Shelley Manor Medical Centre/Private Clinic .
