INTRODUCTION my client: Lower school students Time allowance: 5 weeks Unit question: Can games educate? Specification and limitation: Education, entertaining, easy to understand For my specification and limitation, I need to make the game easy so that the lower school students could understand how it works and i need to make it interesting.

The lower school students can have fun while playing the game. So we are making a really simple game for them. I hope they can understand it well. We used a program name Scratch for making the game. It was quite hard for me to understand that program so I asked for help from my friends. The bad part for making a game is that its not easy to learn it by myself without any teaching and its hard to make it the way I want because some skills are not there that I need.

While I’m doing this, I will be communicating with each other because I am making a game for the lower school students and I helped my friends. The lower school students can understand it well because its a really simple game that they could play easily.

HOW GAMES ARE MADE Different games has different ways to make it. I made my game in this ways: 1st - Find some examples of simple games 2nd - Study the Scratch 3rd - Start to make a game 4th - list the things from the menu that I need for my game 5th - Set the background 6th - Upload it on Scratch homepage It took a long time to learn it and make the game. CLIENT QUESTIONS What kind of games do you think the lower school students will enjoy? why? What lessons should this game teach to the lower school students? What do you think is appropriate to be displayed in a game designed for lower school students?

CLIENT ANSWER Painting because kids like colorful things so they will get interest easily. They could color the picture any ways they want. It could teach them how to entertain and understand. Appropriate things are colorful things and cute things. Kids usually likes those stuffs so if we put it on our games, they will be more interested.

EVALUATING MY PERFORMANCE AT EACH STAGE OF THE DESIGN CYCLE Investigation - I think I did this stage well. I tried to do my best to understand it and I asked my friends for more informations. Design - I think I did this stage well. I thought about the background and how the game is going to be. Plan - I don’t think I did this stage well. I often chat with my friends and I often go to a different site and do something else which is not related to our subject. Create - I don’t think I did this stage well. LEAST SUCCESSFUL POINTS OF PRODUCT

In my opinion, I didn’t do well to finish my work on deadline. I think its because I couldn’t understand the Scratch well. It took a really long time for me to understand it. The program is too hard for me.

SUCCESSFUL POINTS OF PRODUCT

In my opinion, I did well on making my game. Actually I didn’t do that well on this project. Well, the good thing is that I could finish all of my product before the report card distribution.

MODIFICATION OF PRODUCT

If I need to make another game, I wont be happy because its gonna give me some stress and its still hard for me to make a good game. Its hard to be done until deadline.
