MASTERS - ISSUE #9
MIM OCTOBER 2019 / APRIL 2020
THE EDITOR’S NOTE
Hand-made objects are more and more sought after in large international cities — you could even say that they’re undergoing a renaissance. As globalization fosters ever more uniformization and standardisation, more and more people need to express their individual selves by purchasing unique objects, clothing, jewellery, and works of art.
In Morocco, the variety of artisanal fabrication is spectacular, and Moroccan hand-made art is amazing in its beauty and diversity: embroidery, sewing, pottery, zellige tiles, wood sculpture or painting, plaster sculpture. I urge you to make your way along the winding path towards those who keep these secretly coded, woven, and engraved know-hows. In this issue, they open the doors
of their workshops and tell us their stories. Enjoy!
