BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

Office

DESIGN CONCEPT: A RUSTIC CABIN IN NATURE A nonprofit organization that provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. This program is important to the global community because it helps the youth build a diligent, responsible, and productive society. It allows the kids to build confidence and take on any challenge. It provides different scouting groups to suit a specific age group.

DESIGN CONCEPT: PARISIAN ELEGANCE WITH HINTS OF CONTRAST REFLECTING BOTH SPECTRUMS OF EMOTION A Tale of Two Cities takes place in Paris and London during the French Revolution in the late 1700’s. Dickens asserts his belief in a resurrection and transformation from dark, grim events in life. He presents the Revolution in an intense, dramatic form weaving different episodes and the struggles of life and death. Carton is the hero as he rescued Dr. Manette from 18 years of prison due to false identity along with resurrecting Darnay from death and Lucie from widowhood. These sacrifices were to fulfill a promise to Lucie whom he had always loved. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...” - Charles Dickens

MFA Thesis CASA VIAJAR ASSISTED LIVING

DESIGN CONCEPT: TRAVELING AROUND THE WORLD My design for Casa Viajar Assisted Living is centered on travel. The name itself means “Traveling Home. Since the elderly do not have the luxury to go on vacations to other parts of the world, this particular facility allows them to bring the adventure to their life. From Morocco to Japan and other countries around the world, the residents will experience a wide range of cultural opportunities that will reaffirm their choice at this vibrant phase of their lives. It is essential that an assisted living facility provides space that creates warmth and vitality. Since most retirees have traveled, I chose to create a space filled with specific cultural design of other countries. Casa Viajar has a Japanese Garden Restaurant, Moroccan library and bar, Parisian cafe, casino, etc., thus giving the residents the joy of different experiences.

Furniture Design DESIGN CONCEPT: JALI INSPIRED I was inspired by jali work - a perforated stone or latticed screen, usually with an ornamental pattern constructed through the use of calligraphy and geometry - from Moroccan patterns and architecture, such as Mughal architecture.
