Camp JRF Eco-Village South Sterling, Pennsylvania

The Eco-Village for Camp JRF,is a Jewish Rectructionist camp set in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Our team worked closely with the Camp staff and campers to design a sustainable and interactive village with reclaimed and green materials. The camp is to have three yurt style cabins to sleep 300 campers, a program building, and two separate bathhouses for both the boy and girl campers. Our design incorporated recycled bottles, reclaimed wood, and milk crates used for locker storage. Our goal was to have the camp blend and become one with the landscape both aesthetically and physically. The campers were part of several design sessions interacting with our designers and providing feedback and ideas. The campers will be building portions of the village themselves in a hands on construction experience. Tasks will include building the recycled bottle walls, installing solar panels on the roof and building the decks for the Yurts to sit on.

1720 Sarah Street Residence Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

In 2009 I purchased a 2,570 sqft single family home in a dense urban neighborhood of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. My goal was to design, renovate, and perform all the labor and profit from the renovation. I stripped the house down the the shell and began to redesign from the inside out. I acted as the client, architect, designer, general contractor, and labor all at the same time. I kept the project on schedule and within a strict budget to profit from the sale of the home. The home consisted of 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, with a kitchen, living room, and dining room..

Hazelwood Urban Renewal Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

In my fifth year studio at Carnegie Mellon University I participated in an urban renewal project. In the poverty stricken area of Hazelwood we met and worked with community members and organizers to devise solutions to recharge their community with an increase in population, business, and growth. My project focused on expanding the neighborhood along the river front. I studied the existing housing density of Hazelwood and provided a new urban plan to achieve equal density with diverse housing typologies. My goal was to enhance the quality of life and build a seamless extension to the existing neighborhood connecting the community to the river. This project is an example of how high density can be an amenity to a community.

I have worked on many projects over the last 2 years with the Aramark Food Service Corporation to provide universities, and hospitals with new and renovated dining facilities and food service facilities. Coordination between franchise venues and the client while staying on an Aramark budget has defined my coordination, scheduling, and budget reconciliation skills.
