Get on board the Millennium... Go Green! T

here’s nothing better than hitting the highway and enjoying this great country! It’s that beautiful landscape and a respect for our customers that has inspired us at Millennium Luxury Coaches to make, “going green” even easier.

Millennium has always been a pioneer in technology and design and we continue to build the lightest coach on the road today. This not only allows for improved handling, but better fuel economy. And on a Millennium, running your generator is optional rather than standard! “When diesel was .99 cents a gallon we were

Service Manager, Shell Division All in all, a very nice improvement in the control circuits for the driver! Unfortunately the system is not able to be retrofitted due to an improved steering column and the need for another i/o module to be installed in the dash. We look forward to making improvements to the Smart Wheel and adding more functions that can be controlled by the driver in a more visible and accessible manner.

For now it allows the driver to control the cruise control, engine brake and turn the transmission retarder off and on. It still has a horn button in the center of the wheel and with the rocker switch on the dash you can select between the electric or air horns. There are also switches on the wheel that allow the driver to control the driver and passenger shades up and down. Prevost has introduced a new “Smart Wheel” steering wheel on all the motor home shells. It is fully integrated into our MUX electrical system and will receive further development in future years.

Investment Tip If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00. With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left. If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer/wine one year ago, drank all the beer/wine, then turned in the cans/bottles for the recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00. Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

offering alternative power sources that really extended dry camping time, now that it’s creeping up to $5.00 per gallon, we’ve got everyone’s attention,” observes Nelson Figueroa, President of Millennium Luxury coaches, “We’ve been perfecting this technology for the last 9 years!” High efficiency A/C units decrease power consumption and an additional alternator combined with the eight house batteries and four inverters decrease the need to fire up the generator. The use of LED lighting whenever possible decreases consumed energy as well as heat output. “One of the best things about the Lutron® home automation system, used in all Millennium Luxury Coaches, is that it allows us to program to very specific conditions. For example, lights dimmed to 90% are more energy efficient, but not noticeable”, says Nelson Figueroa. “We’re all about customization and choices. Our engineers can even program several flush options and other water saving features.” That’s customization at its best!

appliances (they draw electricity even when they are off ), say “no” to plastic, and keep your tires inflated to the proper level. RV parks are becoming more conscious of keeping our environment clean and recycling programs are becoming common-place. If your favorite RV Park doesn’t offer recycling, mention it. Sometimes that’s all it takes! Small changes made by many can make a tremendous difference in our environment and lessen our impact on the planet. “As a company, it’s our responsibility to be eco-friendly, but we also want to give our clients that option too”, says Evelyn Figueroa, Vice President of Millennium. “More and more people are making an effort to “go greener”. We want to help make it an easy choice!” It takes research, trial and error, hard work and diligence to come up with new and improved ideas. As our friend Kermit says, “It ain’t easy being Green”, but here at Millennium we’re proud to do our part and help make a difference!

Hometown(s): Jan is originally from East Windsor, Connecticut and Larry from Ontario, Canada but they’ve both lived in Florida now for over 20 years. Currently they live in The Villages, Florida. They met “surfin’ the web” 10 years ago. How long have you been RVing? Larry bought his first motor home in 1974 and 11 coach’s later Larry and Jan’s new Millennium is their fourth Prevost. “Over the years, we could probably write two books on our RV experiences. The best part of it all, are the numerous friends we have made through the years.” What do you enjoy most about your Millennium? “We weren’t even in the market for a new coach and were very happy with the H-3 Prevost that we had owned for the last 5 years. Things changed instantly when we looked at a new Millennium Luxury Coach last July. It blew us away with its design and innovations! We talked to several friends that were familiar with the history and reputation of Millennium, and who could tell us more about the owners of the company, Nelson and Evelyn Figueroa. Within 24 hrs that new Millennium was on our lot! We are still pleased with our decision months later. The customer service we have received has been beyond our expectations. Their willingness to “customize” their coaches to each owner’s desires and lifestyles make them extremely unique. Where are some of your favorite places to go in your RV? In the winter we leave Central Florida and head to Bluewater RV Park just outside of Key West (for 17 years we have owned a “lot” there). In the spring we come back to central Florida to our home in The Villages. Then in the summer we go up north to Traverse City Michigan and from there we take a few trips going east and west. By fall we are back home to Central Florida until next Christmas, then we start over again! Who likes to drive and who directs? Larry has the easy job – driving! He just needs to keep the coach between the white lines. On the other hand, Jan’s job is much more difficult! She’s the navigator, concierge, cook, and professional dog whisperer for (2) maltese puppies, Muffie and Max who get easily bored while on the road. What’s the last thing you did to “Go Green”? We bought a Millennium!

“Our Finicky-est Friends!” Bruno, just celebrated his 9th birthday! He lives with his parents, Richard and Linda Haddock in Raleigh, North Carolina. When questioned about his favorite things he had this to say, “I love to sit up high in my new Millennium H3-45. I can look out the windshield without even getting up, and the shower is big enough for me to take a bath in! But the best thing about my new Millennium is that it makes my mom happy, and when mom’s happy, we’re all happy!” Bruno loves to travel and see the beautiful country. When we asked Bruno how he “Goes Green” he was very excited to share, “My mom doesn’t use any chemicals to clean the floors, that way I can lick them and not get sick!” We have to admit, that’s one of our “Pet Peeves” too, Bruno. Harsh chemicals are not only bad for your Millennium; they’re bad for the environment!
