THE RETURN OF THE HYDROPLANE FERRY After almost two decades, a hydroplane ferry cruises along Belgrade rivers. he good news at this year’s Tourism Fair was the announcement of the return of the hydroplane ferry on the region’s waterways. Even better is that Aqua Line plans to cruise the swift ferry along the Danube for three attractive tourist excursions. Among them are a voyage to Djerdap, an excursion called Gibraltar on the Danube, which includes a visit to the Petrovaradin Fortress and the Baroque sights of the town Sremski Karlovci, a voyage to the antique town of Viminacium, along with visits to Smederevo Fortress, Silver Lake and the prehistoric site of Vinča. Moreover, other destinations along the Danube, Sava and Tisza rivers are planned, and Aqua Line offers cruises along all the navigable rivers in Serbia, and even visits beyond its borders to Szeged and Budapest.
