Il Brutalismo è una corrente architettonica sviluppatasi nel secondo dopoguerra grazie a Le Corbusier. Venuti a conoscenza di questo stile dalle forme decise e dai materiali pesanti, i fotografi Natta e Pavesi hanno realizzato un progetto che vuole esprimere l’idea di un bello architettonico che non si rifà solo all’estetica dei materiali, ma anche alla forza delle forme. La loro ricerca si muove tra strutture e texture, tra le forme povere ed essenziali e l’imponenza degli edifici. Un’indagine che dalla curiosità si dipana verso lo studio, l’osservazione e la ricerca di qualcos’altro che vada oltre la facciata.
Brutalism is an architectural movement that developed after the Second World War thanks to Le Corbusier. Having become aware of this style, with its strong shapes and heavy materials, the photographers Natta and Pavesi have created a project that wants to express the idea of an architectural beauty that does not only refer to the aesthetics of materials, but also to the strength of shapes. Their research moves between structures and textures, between simple, essential shapes and imposing buildings. An investigation where curiosity leads to study, observation and research into something beyond the façade.
