Entertainment Expo will kick off with three evening events set to be staged at three memorable venues: piazza del Duomo, the brand new Open Air Theatre and world-renowned Teatro alla Scala. BENEATH THE SPIRES OF THE DUOMO For the third consecutive year, the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra returns to piazza Duomo for a large free concert dedicated to the city. The performance, starring virtuoso violinist David Garrett, will be conducted by Riccardo Chailly. The show, slated to be one of the most exciting on the 2015 classical music scene, includes pieces by Paganini, Brahms, Verdi and Rossini.

THE ICE PRINCESS
Eighty one hour performances of acrobatics, dance, music, clowning and original stage sets. From Wednesday to Sunday, until 30 August, the Cirque du Soleil will enthrall audiences at the Open Air Theatre with “Allavita!”, a performance created exclusively for Expo. Food and life are the themes of the show featuring 48 artists from all over the world.
A huge favourite with the public, Turandot is the opera chosen by Teatro alla Scala to inaugurate Expo. Conducted by Riccardo Chailly, Puccini’s last opera, directed by Nikolaus Lehnhoff, is infused with sublime figurative elegance. Starring Nina Stemme, Maria Agresta and Aleksandrs Antonenko.
