New horizons Sailing is a sport with great tradition. The first official regatta took place in 1851 and was named ”The America’s Cup” - since then recognized as the oldest sports trophy in the world. Today the America’s Cup is the most professional and prestigious sailing series in the world. It has until now been raced in conventional designed boats with a clear reference to the history of the race. Even with the most modern technology and lightest materials the boats mostly sailed the same speed as the wind. That is history - a new era in sailing has begun with the announcement of a new radical design for the 34th America’s Cup. The future boats will be powered by a ‘wing’ and they will barely touch the water, making them capable of sailing several times faster than the wind!

Same team The two professional Danish sailors, Jes Gram-Hansen and Rasmus Køstner plan to be a part of the new multihull series and maintain their position in international sailing. They have both competed in the America’s Cup and intend to be a part of the 34th edition. As the best preparation they will compete in the Extreme Sailing Series 2011. VIP-Hospitality The Extreme Sailing Series offers a multi-level hospitality experience for the sailing team sponsors. The guests are all invited to the VIP lounge overlooking the race area. Here the teams and guests meet throughout each race day, and enjoy the various foods and beverages available. For the top-level guest there is even an opportunity to sail onboard with the teams during racing - a true ”money can’t buy” experience.
