SOUTHLAKE’S APPLE STORE REOPENS ITS DOORS The Southlake Town Square Apple Store reopened for business on November 3. They closed their doors back in March for renovations, leaving Apple users without a nearby Genius Bar to help fix their products. The new location, however, adds an elevated feel to the shopping area. With ample seating, a large screen on the back wall and sleek materials throughout, the entire space feels modern. SALADWORKS CUTS THE LETTUCE TO CELEBRATE THEIR NEW LOCATION On November 6, Saladworks opened their first location in the Metroplex right here in Southlake. To celebrate their first DFW venture, the salad brand hosted a lettucecutting ceremony and a big giveaway. The first 50 people in line received 50 free salads, grain bowls or toasts for the year. The second 50 people received five free salads, grain bowls or toasts to use later on. LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER HOSTS BOOK SEMINAR FOCUSED ON SUSTAINING HEALTH Ditto L Tamer, one of the owners of Piazza in the Village in Colleyville and Piazza on the Green in McKinney, published her first book, “Copy Ditto,” this past summer about how she maintains her fit lifestyle. It took her seven years to compile the research and write her story, so it is full of anecdotes and inspiration about living a healthy life. On December 9, she will host a formal book seminar at Vaquero Country Club about how to sustain your health with diet and exercise. She hopes to help her readers become more aware of their daily choices and encourage them to help others on their journey to a healthier life. FIRST NATIONAL BANK SOUTHLAKE HOLDS FOOD & TOY DRIVE First National Bank Southlake is hosting its Hearts & Hands Food & Toy Drive until December 12. On November 5, they started taking donations that would benefit GRACE. They had a goal of providing 200 cans of cranberry sauce and 200 cans of pumpkin for the nonprofit’s holiday food basket program as well as 100 new, unwrapped toys for the Christmas Cottage. You can drop off food or toy donations at the bank lobby in Southlake Town Square Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. DEC 18 • 35
