JEFF GORDON CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION HOSTS LUNCH WITH A LEGEND Former NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon has the third-most all-time NASCAR Cup Series wins. In 1998, he was named to NASCAR's "50 Greatest Drivers" list. He has appeared on Top 25 and Top 5 lists across multiple outlets, and while his accolades go on, Gordon's biggest race is helping find a cure for pediatric cancer. Out of this passion, he founded Jeff Gordon's Children Foundation, a nonprofit geared toward raising funds for pediatric cancer research. On November 3, Southlake residents were able to join these efforts by attending Lunch With a Legend at the Hilton Southlake Town Square. This was the first time the event was held in Texas. LOCAL KIDS GIVE BACK BY PASSING OUT TREATS TO HARBORCHASE RESIDENTS While lots of local kiddos went from house to house to collect sweets this Halloween, one set of kids gave back to others to celebrate the holiday. On October 30, Hailey and Ryan Cawley, Abram and Ava Montoya, Sienna and Reid Wheeler and Abbey and Eva Walker handed out candy to HarborChase residents. Erica Cawley, mother of Hailey and Ryan, called HarborChase and asked if the eight children could pass out candy to the seniors along with a few drawings they created. Both the kids and the seniors got a kick out of the reverse trick or treating, making it an event everyone there is sure to remember. Erica has already said she wants to bring the kids back next Halloween. But she also wanted to do more. So she arranged the kids to come back in honor of National Young Readers Day to read to seniors. Sounds like this is the start of a beautiful partnership.
