Welcome to the seventh annual Midwest Technology Leaders Symposium 2011! The economy is stabilizing and the dust has begun to settle…are you still standing? The seventh annual Midwest Technology Leaders IT Symposium will be analyzing and comparing the executives and businesses that have survived and thrived these past three years – how they did it, what keeps them going and their go-forward plans. Strategy, intelligence trends, calculated risks, pure luck… Thank you for attending our seventh annual Midwest Technology Leaders Symposium. We appreciate the support you have offered of our efforts in creating a heightened awareness about the wealth of talent in the Midwest’s technology sector. We strive to bring together the best senior IT executives in the region to facilitate the technology community’s continued growth. You are all an integral component of ever expanding   In coming year we are looking forward to advancing the scope of awareness surrounding the Midwest IT sector by having Midwest Technology Leaders Symposium become synonymous with abundant quality content and expert speakers. Every year we work on designing a relevant agenda based on current trends and IT superstars that both educate and inspire our delegates — all enforced through feedback from our dedicated Executive Board members.  We have just kicked off our fourth year of Elevate Executive Mentor Program , which pairs today’s top IT leaders with the Midwest’s best up-and-coming CIOs. The mentors and mentees meet one hour per month for a year, supplemented by quarterly best practices meetings (for mentors) and biannual workshops (for mentees). Elevate provides guidance for those looking to advance their careers and offers both mentors and mentees the opportunity to steadily build their social capital.  As a component of the Midwest Technology Leaders Symposium, we feel it is necessary to give back to the community. This year we have again chosen to support the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWTF), the foundation raises funds to assist women and young girls in their pursuit of advanced degrees in the technology industry.
