Wrapping up the Magic On the first week of Christmas shoots, my publisher (Susan HozakCardinal) gave to me... three Hodo cocktails, one homebuilder, two office spaces, one homemade snickers, two brilliant artists, one architect, four holiday homes, one Bismarck author, and a really beautiful jewelry store!

With our third holiday issue all "wrapped up", my December preparations

Nothing says, "This mom's going to win Christmas," like a 10:00 P.M. cup of joe and an improper "splash" of cream liqueur. Most importantly, I plan to remind myself often that these are the very best days; to not let holiday stress overshadow my joy for the season and the reason. Heading happily into our third year, we want to sincerely thank our readers, contributors, and team members who graciously gift us with their time and talents. May your holiday magic never end, and your greatest gifts be the presence of family and friends. Merry Christmas, from our Midwest Nest family to yours!

Whether it’s a neighborhood happy hour or a full weekend of forced family fun, a home holiday gathering can be a great opportunity to flex your festive expertise. To get our creative juices flowing and expand our

horizons,

we

teamed up with one of the industry's best mixologists, Nate Stensgard of the HoDo Lounge. He broke down three seasonal sips that are sure to fill your guests with holiday cheer. To perfect our presentation, we took a quick trip to Dash & White to find glassware and serving options to pair with these perfect pours.

Fun Tip: To get a little craftier, sometimes Stensgard makes a concentrated syrup, or premixed "shrub", consisting of cranberries, sugar, and a bit of cider vinegar. The result is a sweet, acidic mixer that can be used in a variety of mixed cocktails. * Featured: Dash & White rose crystal champagne flute
