OGDEN POLICE REPORT Monday, March 3 8:08 a.m.: Officer assisted a stranded motorist in the 200 block of S.W. 3rd St. 8:19 a.m.: Officer spoke to two subjects over a property dispute. 11:12 a.m.: Officer received a report of a stranded motorist in the 400 block of E. Walnut St. 12:45 p.m.: Officer investigated a two vehicle accident at the intersection of N.E. 2nd St. and E. Maple St. 6:11 p.m.: Officer assisted a stranded motorist at the intersection of S.W. 5th and Mulberry St. 10:18 p.m.: Officer cited and released Chalon Engleen for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia and open container of alcohol as a passenger. 11:44 p.m.: Officer assisted Ogden First Responders at 565 170th St.

Tuesday, March 4 5:53 p.m.: Officer assisted a subject with a civil issue. Wednesday, March 5 4:15 p.m.: Officer was asked to do a welfare check on an Ogden resident. The subject was upset but a family member arrived to stay with them for a while. 7:10 p.m.: Officer received a complaint of a vehicle parked in a driveway at 207 W. 6th St. that did not belong there. The officer located the owner and advised not to park on private property without permission. Thursday, March 6 12:54 p.m.: Officer arrested Lance Hubby, 42, of Ogden on a warrant for carrying dangerous weapons. 10:33 p.m.: Officer assisted stranded motorist. Friday, March 7

8:37 a.m.: Officer assisted subject locked out of vehicle. 10:24 p.m.: Officer received a complaint of juveniles playing with shopping carts at Clark’s Food Mart. This turned out to be employees of the store. Saturday, March 8 10:55 a.m.: Officer assisted lost motorist. 5:15 p.m.: Officer received a complaint of subject not following court order in regards to child visitation. Sunday, March 9 12:47 p.m.: Officer assisted stranded motorist in the 400 block of E. Walnut St. 4:45 p.m.: Officer stood by while parents exchanged child. These charges are merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

SHERIFF’S REPORT Tuesday, March 4 4:38 p.m.: A person called the BCSO 911 center to report that she was having chest pains and had passed out and went into the ditch. She did not know where she was exactly, but the 911 dispatcher located her and sent rescue and officers to assist her. There was also a small child with her who was not injured. She was transported to the hospital for treatment. 7:17 p.m.: A deputy made a traffic stop at Highway 210 and Y Ave. and after a brief investigation Randy Brock was cited for a traffic violation and drug paraphernalia. Wednesday, March 5 10:24 a.m.: The BCSO began an investigation into a burglary that occurred in the 6100 block of Lincolnway. Among the items taken were some power tools and some personal items. The investigation is continuing. Friday, March 7 4:49 a.m.: A person called the BCSO 911 center to report his house was on fire in the 60 block of X Ave. A deputy from the BCSO along with the Story City Fire Department responded to the scene. The owner of the house against advise went back in to get his dogs and was treated

for smoke inhalation when the fire department arrived. There were no serious injuries. Saturday, March 8 3:54 a.m.: A person called the BCSO to report that someone entered their house while they were sleeping in the 40 block of 310th. A deputy responded and the owner of the residence advised that a male was standing in their house and when confronted left the residence in a newer model silver or gray truck, possibly a Chevrolet. If anyone has any information about this please call the BCSO at 515-4330524. 7:55 p.m.: A deputy from the BCSO stopped a vehicle at Highway 17 and Highway 30 for driving 108 MPH. The driver Zachary Lay was also charged with having a dangerous weapon and possession under legal age. An investigation into the incident is on going. Sunday, March 9 1:18 p.m.: A deputy from the BCSO made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of 110th. After a brief investigation the driver of the car Levi Vaughan was detained for further investigation into possible OWI. Vaughan was also cited for excessive speed and open container.

Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa March 24-28, 2014, is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa. Boone County Emergency Management Agency, the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEMD) and the National Weather Service (NWS) have joined together to promote severe weather awareness and preparedness during this week. The highlight of Severe Weather Awareness Week is the annual tornado drill scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, at approximately 10 a.m. Schools, businesses, state and local governments, and individuals are strongly encouraged to participate in the drill. Additional information about the tornado drill can be found on local NWS websites. During Severe Weather Awareness Week, the County offices will be testing their intercom system during the tornado drill and many other schools and businesses will test their emergency plans.
