The first Issue of Microscenes was pretty exciting. I hadn't done anything like it before and I was (still am) not really a part of any close community of writers outside of the internet, so I really was just kind of hoping for submissions from facebook & tumblr contacts. I had the idea for an alt-lit flash fic zine while I was using twitter and thinking about internet writing in a really vague manner. It just struck me that people don't have a lot of time to read super long passages of writing every day, especially not on a mobile device or at a computer after a long days work. With that idea in mind i clumsily took to the internet and began solicting submissions. This issue was made up of the best of that first round of subs and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it too.
