We are pleased to announce our 31st Anniversary HAWAII’S WOODSHOWTM will be held October 29, 2023 through November 8, 2023 at the Hawai‘i Opera Plaza in Honolulu. In addition to planning some special 31st Anniversary activities, the exhibition will combine excellent workmanship and creativity with the natural beauty of wood grown in Hawaiʻi and offer the opportunity for attendees to make Hawaiʻi-grown wood a part of their home.
It is such a joy to see the work produced by these artists and craftsmen and talk to the people who come again and again to enjoy seeing current works in wood. The natural grain, color, and shape of the wood truly come alive in the hands of Hawaiʻi artisans.
In addition to showcasing artwork, we highlight wood grown here in Hawaiʻi, best practices for the conservation and sustainability of our forests, and issues facing our forests in Hawaiʻi. To be eligible for HAWAII’S WOODSHOW, wood used must be sustainably harvested and primarily Hawaiʻi-grown.
This year’s HAWAII’S WOODSHOW will include the 6th Annual Innovation + Imagination Student Challenge, which helps teach and encourage the next generation of woodworkers. Please respond by August 31, 2023, to be included in our publications and promotions.
Sponsorships directly support the exhibition, participating artists, and assist the Hawai‘i Forest Industry Association’s efforts to promote healthy and productive forests. If you have questions, I would be happy to discuss them with you. I can easily be reached by email at woodshow.hi@gmail.com.
