As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain skills. Apprentices also receive valuable training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications. The minimum salary is ÂŁ2.50 per hour, however, many apprentices earn significantly more. There may be different entry requirements depending on the Apprenticeships and the industry sectors. Competition for places can be fierce so you will need to show you are committed.

Working for Albion in the Community, your role will include coaching a range of ages and abilities in football and multi sports. You will also represent AITC at community events and lead sessions and activities. You will gain an NVQ Level 2 Teaching, Coaching and Instructing and other technical certificates! 16 hours per week and receive ÂŁ220 per month. You must be between 16-18 to apply and ideally have an interest in football (although not essential).

Who is eligible for Foundation Learning? Those between 16-18 years old and not in education, employment or training (up to 25 for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities). Qualifications are below level 2 which is the equivalent to 5 GCSE’s A-C grades. What’s the course about? • Summer Jam’ is a fun, flexible, non-accredited music programme • You will receive guidance from music industry professionals and will have access to state-of-the-art music software, to make any kind of music you want. Use Logic, record vocals, MC, collaborate and more; • Dv8 aims to help all participants gain confidence, & will provide the option to look at progressions / CV writing and college applications; • Exciting chances to visit local club venues and music studios – and hear their music through huge professional PA systems! • You will have the chance to present your material to a music business professional for feedback (optional), and can come away with a CD of your own material!!!! Whose it for? • For 16-18 year olds who have not yet achieved 5 GCSE’s at A-C (including English and Maths). • Everyone, from those with little music experience to experienced learners wanting to access professional equipment or to develop existing projects. • After completion of the course, you will be given priority places on Dv8’s September full Foundation Learning course

The Young Retail Programme is a pre Apprenticeship work experience programme for young people aged 16 -18 yrs run by The Walwyn Trust. The programme is being run across the south and has funding for an initial 6 months starting in June 2011. The programme lasts up to 6 months and you will be required to work 16hrs a week in a retail or customer service placement (which the Walwyn Trust will help find for you). In return you will enhance your employability skills by: • Undertaking work experience and gaining employer references • Working towards achieving an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services • Improving your numeracy and literacy qualifications, working towards Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (if appropriate) You will also receive £40 per week in expenses
