SOO TOWNSHIP SCHOOL PTO NEWSLETTER
Thank you’s A note from Lannie Castagne… A BIG thank you goes out to Amy Slater and Carol Campbell for the endless hours they have volunteered in the library locating quiz numbers for Accelerated Reader quizzes and relabeling all of our books! Our little ones will now be able to access and take quizzes much easier in the updated Accelerated Reader System. I cannot begin to thank you both enough.
A note from the PTO President and the students… A HUGE THANK YOU to Leslie Boulette, Vonda Cushman, and Amy Slater for popping popcorn on Popcorn Friday’s! We welcomed back the Soo Township Holiday House again this year. This was an experience enjoyed by both the students as well as parents. Thank you to Amy Slater for organizing the event, Mandy McLean, Ms. Rhodes, Mrs. Castagne for help setting up; Vonda Cushman, Leslie Boulette, Sue Wagner, and Bonnie Weber for helping students shop; Kristy Chambers for organizing the volunteers for our “Wrapping Night” and the many “ PTO Elves” who helped wrap presents. The event would not have been a success without you! We would like to also take the opportunity to thank Angie Brown for signing on to be Box Top and Soup Label coordinator for the school. Angie puts in countless hours tabulating the information and submitting. Thank you also to the numerous parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and so on who save the box tops and soup labels for our Soo Township! Please continue to send them in every month for your chance to receive a prize as top collector! Amy Slater, as you can see, spends a great deal of time on volunteering at the school. Amy acts as treasurer for the PTO, organizes fundraisers, and helps out whenever and wherever needed. Michelle Bouschor has volunteered her position as PTO Vice President. Michelle has taken time to coordinate and make sure each staff member gets a birthday surprise on his or her birthday from the PTO and students. Thank you to the families who have donated treats for staff birthdays. It is appreciated! Katie Wood took on the role as PTO Secretary this year and helped work with Pro Sports to get our NEW Soo Township Apparel. Thank you Katie! Thank you Mrs. Morley who acts as the Teacher Representative as well as the Scrip Coordinator for the PTO. Mrs. Morley makes sure to e-mail, collect, input and distribute all the scrip cards for each order. Last but not least, we would like to thank Mrs. Gregory, the school secretary, for taking the time to help us out when needed. We cannot be on-site at all times and she makes sure to answer questions, deliver messages, distribute PTO paperwork, and help with numerous other tasks! Thank you Catherine for being a tremendous help!
