This was the very thought Michael Saunders had in 1976 in a time when good customer service was not the main goal of most real estate companies. The frustration borne from substandard service compelled Michael to change the game by creating a company of her own to ensure every customer who ever dealt with the Michael Saunders brand would feel heard,

respected and appreciated. Michael Saunders & Company started

out small. In 1976, she secured a $5,000

loan from a bank that insisted she have a male business associate co-sign, since lending money to women at that time was a fairly frowned-upon practice. She used those funds to create the first Michael Saunders & Company location on St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota, a brand that would eventually become an internationally-recognized

icon with hundreds of affiliated companies around the world. Though Michael Saunders & Company’s reputation reaches around the globe, its roots are right here on the Gulf Coast. With over 45

years of experience and 24 branches in the area, no other company knows Florida’s Gulf Coast from Anna Maria to Boca Grande like we do.
