For a better understanding of each treatment and to answer any questions you may have we reccomend you schedule a consultation and speak with Dr. Rosen himself.
Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures Facelift – Rhytidectomy Facelifts counteract the effects that time, gravity, sun exposure and the stresses of daily life take on your face like deep creases and wrinkles around the mouth, the jawline slackins and fat deposits and folds around the neck. Facelifts give your face a fresher, youthful look by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles. When performing a facelift at our surgery center, Dr. Rosen combines a high degree of artistry with an exceptional level of surgical skill and precision. To begin the procedure, incisions are made behind the hairline or in other inconspicuous locations. They are made in such a way as to minimize visible scarring. During the facelift surgery, excess tissue, fat, and skin are removed. The eyebrows and cheeks are repositioned to naturally enhance your youthful appearance, reducing wrinkles and other visible signs of aging. Lastly, the skin is tightened around the newly contoured face. A facelift procedure at our New Jersey office generally lasts between two and three hours depending on the extent of the surgery.
Nose Surgery – Rhinoplasty Rhinoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures, and is sometimes refered to as a nose job. Nose surgeries are performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person's nose, remove a nasal hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and mouth or to correct injury, birth defects or other problems affecting breathing. Individual results depend on the patient's cartilage structure, facial shape, skin thickness and age. Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed under either local or general anesthesia and lasts one to two hours unless more extensive work needs to be done. Surgeons use one of two techniques: the incision is either made within the nostrils, thus hiding scars after surgery, or across the columella (the vertical strip of tissue separating the nostrils) in an "open" procedure, where scars are small and hidden on the underside of the base. In both procedures the skin is lifted, the bone and cartilage sculpted, and the skin replaced and stitched closed.
Browlift – Forehead Lift As you age, forehead skin can lose elasticity and begin to sag, resulting in wrinkles, furrows, and drooping brows. This may create an angry, sad, or tired look, or simply make you appear older than you actually are. Brow lift surgery at Dr. Michael Rosen's plastic Surgery and Laser Center in New Jersey can help to tighten, smooth, and lift forehead skin, restoring the fresh look of your youth. Using either traditional or minimally invasive (endoscopic) methods, the muscles above the eyes are altered to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.
Eyelid Surgery – Blepharoplasty Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. Blepharoplasty can be combined with a facelift or BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes. Blepharoplasty at our New Jersey practice typically takes one to two hours to complete depending on the extent of the surgery. During your initial consultation, we will determine which eyelids need to be repaired, and you will learn more about the procedure and healing time.
