Welcome to my first edition of what I hope to be a monthly update for all things relating to weddings and wedding photography. It has been a hectic year and I would like to thank all the brides and grooms that I have had the pleasure in photographing this year and I look forward to another busy year next year.

10 questions to ask a wedding photographer There are lots of wedding photographers in Northern Ireland all saying they offer they best package and value for money but how do you choose? Below is a list of questions you should ask your photographer before going ahead with the booking. Have you ever worked at our location before? This is important because you don't the photographer wasting time on your day going around the location trying to find the good places for photos. I might not have taken photos at every location or hotel in Northern Ireland but I make sure I check them out before the wedding so I am full prepared on the day.

After the wedding, when can we expect to see the photos? Usually within two weeks. I will have your DVD slideshow ready and your full resolutions photos on CD.

What do your packages include and what will I have to pay extra for? My price list is clear and n and I have no additional or hidden costs. My packages include me for the whole day from the morning preparations through to the first dance and you get a DVD slideshow, FREE 16x12 canvas print and your photos uploaded to my website. The only difference in price is the style of album that you decide to go for. My range of albums can be found on my website http://www.mmcphotography.co.uk/albums and you can also download my price list - http://www.mmcphotography.co.uk/price-list

How much of a deposit is required to hold the date? When is the balance due? Deposit is ÂŁ150 which secures your date. The balance usually paid to me on the day of your wedding.

What happens if it rains? No problems. I am experienced and I do plan for it (Northern Ireland weather is very unpredictable). Most hotels have plenty of space for bridal party shots and I would also take a selection where the service was held.

How far ahead do I need to book my photographer? You can book me at anytime but usually one year in advance. My prices are very competitive and

dates fill up really quickly. Drop me an email to find out if your date is free michael@mmcphotography.co.uk

Do you shoot in colour and black & white? Yes. On your CD you will get photos mostly in colour but a selection will be in black and white and some on sepia.

Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like? Absolutely but most of the time I find that it is photos that I would always take anyway. I am very flexible and aim to ensure that you get everything that you want from the day so before your wedding I always arrange a meeting to go through the final plans and discuss in more detail what photos I will take on the day.

Who will be taking the photos? I work on my own.

Are you easy to get along with? Yes very. I am really sociable and friendly by nature and I love weddings because I get to meet new people and be involved in a very special day. I am easy to work with and I do not take up any more of your time on your wedding day than I need. I work fast, efficiently and professionally.

Great photography quotes I enjoy reading about photography and keeping up to date with new technology and advances in the industry and I recently came across these two quotes which I think reflect my photography really well. “A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.” Ansel Adams “The whole point of taking pictures is so that you don’t have to explain things with words.” Elliott Erwitt

Funny Page

If an man asks a young girl for a date... That's his business. If the girl accepts... That's her business. If the man and the girl decide to marry... That's their business. However, if they want great wedding photographs... THAT'S MY BUSINESS!!!

When doing weddings I always put the client first and go out of my way to make sure I get all the photos required with minimal interruption, fuss and hassle for you. I sometimes find myself balancing perilously on a branch of a wall just to get the photos that I want but I think I might have to draw the line if I was asked to do this.............

My Favourites This year has been extremely busy for me and next year is looking to be the same. I sometimes don't get a chance to look back at my weddings and look at the photos in real detail but I have selected a few below that have really stood out for me . Hope you enjoy
