When I got to college in 2010 in Florida, I met friends who were into hip hop just like me. Just like most friends do, we eventually threw some instrumentals on and began to freestyle on them. After impressing as well as surprising everyone with my ability to rap, my friend suggested I start recording music. He put me in contact with his good friend who was a producer out in Ohio and he sent me beats; from there, things changed for me as I fell in love with writing and recording music. The first song I ever wrote was “Enter My Mind,” the third track off of my mixtape. I loved this song and the concept of it so much that I decided to create an entire mixtape based on the idea and have a majority of my songs produced by my good friend from Ohio, Trust Tha DJ. The concept of the song “Enter My Mind” was to allow anybody listening to get a taste of my music, lyrics, thoughts, as well as life in general. It was a song that I was able to perform all over school which gave me the confidence to continue making music knowing that there was people out there who enjoyed what I was doing. The sixth song off of Enter My Mind, titled “Wonderless World,” is the deepest song off of the mixtape and probably one of the more influential songs that will go unheard to the world. The beat was made by Canadian producer Talen Ted who sparked the idea with the inspiring instrumental. The concept of the song is that the world is full of corruption and injustice anywhere you go. I wrote the first verse after watching a video online about a man who was pulled over by the cops and illegally searched as well as beat before being taken away in cuffs. The verse is basically me talking to this man and telling his story while I apologize to him about the corrupt cops that live in this world. The second verse is similar, except I am addressing a colored woman who is a mother of three struggling to survive in the workforce despite having to constantly deal with racism and gender discrimination. The last verse of the song is about how I am fighting to remain civil in this uncivilized world, especially when our own government is more corrupt than the people they govern. When writing this song, I pictured myself as a leader of the people standing in front of the world and exposing the injustice that we all face every day whether we realize it or not.
The song “I can Change Her” on the mixtape has become a favorite for many, due to the overall realness of the lyrics mixed in with a great beat produced by DA as well as a catchy hook. This song was written about the “perfect girl” that is written about in every rap song; she’s bad, dresses nice, smokes and drinks, and is always with the famous ballers. But I am exposing her on the inside, saying that her appearance is simply a front for her emotion damage that she doesn’t want anyone to see. She acts that way because she is afraid of being unsuccessful and alone in life, so she is willing to do whatever it takes to make money even if that means disrespecting herself and allowing others to take advantage of her. But I love the real girl who doesn’t need all of that, so I make it my mission to change her ways and make her the good girl. Be the complete opposite of what other rappers say, and tell her that she doesn’t have to be that way anymore. Basically going against the norm of rap culture today and saying I rather have the good girl than the “bad bitch.” I wrote a song called “Life,” which is the twelfth song on the mixtape, and this concept was something that I actually came up with years before during freshman year of high school. The song was inspired by my favorite rapper Lupe Fiasco and his song “Hip Hop Saved My Life,” which tells the story of how a young man made it out of the ghetto and tough times through rapping. Well, I chose to twist the story and explain how rap doesn’t always get you out and in fact at times it can all go wrong and work against you. The story tells a similar story of a young rapper making it out of the hood through music, but
only to be gunned down moments after getting a record deal. The idea of the song is to show how unpredictable life can be, and it is important to make the best out of your life because you never know when you may lose it.
One of my favorite songs on the Mixtape is the nineteenth track called “Starlight 21” because it is named after a close friend of mine who had recently been killed, Isaiah Muller. The title is broken down into two parts, “starlight” because he is like an Angel in the sky, and then “21” because that was his jersey number when he played football. The song is about gun violence and weapons in general because Isaiah and others I know have lost their lives to guns and knives, and although it seems as if I am saying lets load up clips and go to war, in actuality I am attacking the idea of violence or vengeance through weaponry. Because I feel that it solves nothing and only brings more death and sorrow among us all. When I wrote this song I thought it would be interesting to put a twist on the typical “shoot em up” record, and in fact make it contradictory and show the negativity of gang violence or weapons in general.
I included a couple of bonus tracks on the mixtape that I did not intend to put on simply because I liked them and thought they needed to be heard. The first bonus track I included named “Let Me In was a track I wrote based on ideas that I have always thought about when it comes to God and religion as well as the concept of right and wrong and what it takes to get to heaven. The song is about me talking to god and explaining why I should be let into Heaven, despite all of the bad things I have done, I have had to overcome a terrible life that he gave me. The song goes onto say that because of every bad situation that was put in my life, I feel God owes me. I was aware while I was writing this song that it would be very controversial and bold, and that was exactly what I was going for. I needed a song that not only provoked thought, but also angered people and went against the typical mind set of people who believe in God. As a person I love to play devil’s advocate, and I carry that onto my music by telling stories and creating new ideas that make my listeners think as well. Hip Hop music can be so much more than just money, luxuries, drugs, and women; it is important that we get back to that, and that is what Enter My Mind is all about.

HI guess I'll start by saying that I have always known that this was going to be what I did at the end of my career choice. I've tried so many other things like piano, education, psychology (who doesn't have that as a choice), and etc. I couldn't really decide what to do because my mother would always told me to have a back-up plan. But as the years went by I decided to sick to what God has given me and it was the joy of singing.
The only way to her heart is with unconditional love. I am on a journey in my life I call this the 2nd quarter . Nothing from the past makes it to the 2nd quarter so theres new money new love and a new life. Mia proved to me that I could love again when I felt that burning desire to be with her and believe me we have had our ups and downs BUT ITS ALLRIGHT ITS WORTH THE FIGHT TO MAKE HER HAPPY EVERYDAY I GET A CHANCE TO.

My role model is my father. His the one who always made music something we did together. I started of singing in his Christian band when I was little or even when they discovered I could sing a little tune. Playing in the subway with my father is the most enjoyable father-daughter thing to do. My father asked me when I was 16 years old to go down with him and the guitar to the subway and make some money. But I always said no because I was scared what people were going to think. Also, my voice was not developed enough (or so I thought). But 2 years past and I figured that maybe my father and I could go down there and actually let people enjoy my music. So the day came when my father asked me and I scared out of my mind, agreed with him and we went down there. Our first stop was 42nd street on the East Side of the Shuttle Train. We made a substantial amount of money and people would drop a dollar or two, when they recognized the song I was singing and it made me really happy that people would sing along with me and clap. It was a life
changing experience and the best of that was that I got to do it beside my father. Because of him my fears have been swept away and I can sing anywhere and everywhere. Our relationship has become stronger because of how much we are like and our love for music. The love my father has for music can't compare because you can see it in the way he plays. No one knows this but he cries and tells me that I'm the best daughter a father can have because he sees how much I want it and how much my talent can give me. I really appreciate the support from him and

When God created us, He created us for success. The plans that God has for us are meant to lead us down the road of true success. Therefore, let us not be discouraged when we stumble and fall, for He has called and anointed each and every one of us. God’s Word promises that He will always accompany us and be with us for the entire journey. His desire is to see us as the top and not the bottom, the head and not the tail. He desires to give us success not as the world defines it, but the real kind of success that comes with our relationship with Him. In fact, He has promised that when we seek Him, all the other things that we seek will not only be given, but ADDED onto us. So let us stay close to God and His word, and allow Him to work in our lives. By dwelling in His presence and following His leadings, we will inevitably achieve everlasting success both in this life, and in our eternally beautiful future. ♼

LOVE LIFE, LAUGH,LOVE & MUCH MORE..Scars are like memories, and tattoos. When you fall, when your heart breaks, and when your best friend turns their back on you, it leaves a scar that can hurt every-time you think about it. It’s a memory that is stuck in your head. It’s in the past, but it comes back and bites. It’s a tattoo because it’s a memory that hurts, but doesn’t disappear. It never does. When you see it so vividly, you sometimes regret what led to the scar that is a memory that leaves an imprint in your life’s history...
