Newark is a city like any other, in constant motion endlessly shifting and rearranging itself to suit the current needs of its inhabitants. This idea of Shifting to meet programmatic needs became a driving factor in this design. This project is about more than just redesigning a facade.It is about carefully reallocating space to both increase floor space while improving the quality of the space itself. The building was treated as one single mass and any shifts that occure on the front will effect the rear. This idea of shifting was allso translated in the language of the apertures.

Bayonne is a city divided into two equal sides . The fist being the residential section with its low lying dwellings and intergrated green areas. These calm streets are lined with houses and buisnesses. It can be seen as a place of leisure and recreation. Opposing this section of Bayonne is the industrial zone with its utilitarian landscape of shipping yards and factories. These massive structures seem to loom over the residential area and dominate the skyline of bayonne. The introduction of a water taxi terminal with further unify this divided city by introducing opportunities for finacial growth of the area but also a space for residents to relax and enjoy the waterfront. This new gateway into Bayonne will incorporate these two facets of the city into a beacon for its future growth and prosperity.

High-Rise Housing

Fall 2012

Located in the urban landscape of Newark the sits between larger commercial avenue and a river front park. The aim of this project was to both provide a connection between these two entities and to providea true sense of place for the residents. The site is enclosed by two large masses which both block out noise from the busy avenues to the north and south and allow access to the commercial area to the west and the riverfront park to the east. The buildings are raised up on piloti to allow space for parking above ground and trees encircle the park creating a sound buffer from the noise of parking are. The central park along with communal areas distributed among the floors allow for constant interaction between residents as well as visitors.

Rural School This multigenerational school setin a small farming community near Modasa, lndia. It is to serve as a primary school for the local children and a civic cebter for the local community.
