Project Description MiBox is a new website which will contain videos, images, reviews and more... MiBox is designed to entertain people and to give our opinions on topics we feel passionate about. It will also inform people of news from the certain areas of topics we have chosen. These topics are: Video games, TV, Football, Films and Music. We’ll cover these topics by receiving news from other sites (e.g. BBC or Sky) and hyperlink their pieces onto our website. MiBox will cover a lot of topics, so there is no certain genre, but it will be centred on football. Hopefully, our website will last long and will contain a lot of information, which hopefully will make the website last, and successful.
Our Target Audience for Our Product Our product is a website based on all the news of what is going on in the world of football, singers and other types of celebrities around the world. At the moment we don’t really have a target audience but we are trying to base the website mainly around football instead of celebrities. Our target audience is more aimed at teenage boys, because they are the most interested in football and games. By this we don’t mean only boys can go on MiBox, we are just saying it will attract more to boys than girls in our opinion.
USP Our unique selling point for the media product is going to be the fact that our website covers six different topics. This provides our viewers with a wider variety and will guarantee them to find what they want nine times out of ten. Our product is also unique, because it is designed for teenagers, and so we are the only website to write reviews aiming at young people. This will allow us to aim at more people, enabling our website to be more popular.
Budget The budget of our project is £5.00 but we are aiming to not spend any money. However, if we want to continue the website after the school project we could buy our own URL which would cost a lot of money. We would also put money towards the website on games and objects we are going to review, however these are for our entertainment at home too, so we would buy it with our own, personal money.

Production Process In our production of our website we have gone through a lot of different stages. I would categorise the process into content and production. Content is what we are going to put into the reviews and the topics we are going to discuss. This table shows what we are covering and why. What? Football
Why? Because it’ll make the website unique, so more people will go on it. Because our questionnaire results said that if we had books on our website, it would attract girls and achieve more views on our website. So that more people will be attracted to the website. So that we can link topics with films and talk about what films are coming up. So we can tell people what
programmes are coming up and what days they are on. So that if people feel that we need to cover a topic or that there are problems with the website they can contact us. So that gamers are also interested and more people are going on the website To inform people what the main stories at the moment are.
Production is the stages how we are going to make the website. These are shown by this table. What? Initial Ideas
Why? To decide what our project was going to be and to understand how we are going to make our website. To distinguish what our target audience and other plans were. To start thinking of the
time frame we have to accomplish and succeed the task Making the product This is where we make our product within a restrictive time frame Review This is where we look at the positives and negatives of what we did and how to build on them in the future Making the product has different stages. Such as making the website. What? Go on wix.com and make an account
Why? Wix is a free website creator and is easy to use, preventing problems. This would allow us to make a better website, since we can save and edit any time we want Using a template to gain So that the website is the same layout consistent and makes it throughout look formal Get images and videos So people know what from Google and we are talking about
Publish the website under wix.com or with our own domain Make the website popular
Update the website daily/weekly
and to show people parts of the film/TV programme So people read them and go on our website, we have used a variety of categories to attract more people and a wider audience To finish our project and so it looks professional To make our website popular we will use a function from Google which enables our website to be found if searched on Google. We will also use different advertising techniques such as word of mouth and posters around school or in our local area. To attract repeat views and to attract more customers
Personnel Involved In our project we have four people working on our website on reviews and the latest news.
In our group we have Michael, Daniel, Joe and George.
Michael does most of the work on the website and thinks of what we can put into it, he also thinks of what we can put into
George will be writing the reviews with Joe and helping with the website.
Daniel is doing the risk assessment for the pre‐ production booklet and is also helping Michael with the website for the final product.
Joe is writing the reviews of the games and movies with George and he is also writing about the equipment list and what we need for our final product, he will also help create the website.
Risk Assessment Our project is a website, whilst making this website we will have to consider the risks we are taking and how to avoid them. One of the risks is viruses, we will have to watch out for them on our page and check that we do not leave any on our website for views to accidentally download. This can be stopped by using the latest protection software and running the test on the computer Another risk is if we offend people or perform an illegal activity, these risks will be explained more in legal and ethical considerations. Copyright, we will have to place copyright on our website to stop people copying it. We will have to check our name and articles for copy right to enable us from been sued or ending up in further trouble. We will have to purchase the domain name before publishing the website.
Legal and Ethical Considerations The homepage of our website can be viewed by anyone of any ages. If our viewers want to view a certain part of our website (e.g. an 18 game) they will have to enter the age or gain consent from their legal guardian. We will not be able to feature any racist remarks as this could offend people if we think a feature may be slightly offending then we will feature a warning on the screen similar to the ones of movies and games. We will not take any details of people without asking therefore they have an opportunity to keep their details safe and they cannot blame our website if they get out. Our website will be copyrighted with the copyright sign.
Potential problems A potential problem is copyright, this is because we could get sent to court or even worse get sent to prison! Another problem is we might run out of things to put on the website or run out of things to review. Also a big problem is if a group member is off because he might have some work saved on his user that needs finishing. YouTube is another problem because we cannot access it so won’t be able to get video clips. Also we have found out that website creators crash quite often this would be problem because we might lose any unsaved work.
