Mariachi Herencia de México, a youth ensemble from Chicago’s immigrant barrios, is Mariachi music’s most exciting newcomer. This Mariachi group has defied a music industry trend pointing to a revival in recorded Mariachi music. The group scored a surprise hit with their debut album of traditional Mexican music, “Nuestra Herencia” (Our Heritage), which reached #2 on the iTunes Latin chart and received a 2017 Latin Grammy® nomination. The ensemble's second album was also within the Top 5 on the iTunes and Billboard Latin charts. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn about the world of Mariachi music when this ensemble visits the Newberry Opera House!
