Leader: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord, our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Psalm 122: 1, 2
People: For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10

Black History Fact: On the evening of December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks, an African American, was arrested for disobeying an Alabama law requiring black passengers to relinquish seats to white passengers when the bus was full. Blacks also were required to sit at the back of the bus. Her arrest sparked a 381day boycott of the Montgomery bus system and led to a 1956 Supreme Court decision banning segregation on public transportation.

Leader: Today is the second Sunday of Advent. We open our hearts to Your peace.
People: Lord, in a world full of trouble, we seek Your peace.
Leader: When life feels chaotic and worries surround us, remind us that Your peace is deeper than our fear.
People: Calm our minds, O God. Soothe our spirits.
