Always Remember As I complete the first few months of 2013 and pay the first quarter’s taxes, I hope that the year has gotten off to a good start for everyone. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to stop for a minute to think about all the great people that have led our industry and our chapter, from the past to the present, and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all that they do for NARI and their communities. It has come to my attention that our chapter’s first president and co-founder Gary Porter has been fighting cancer. Gary recently entered hospice, and has just passed away. It is our prayer that he is now at peace. Gary made a lasting impression on our chapter and will not be forgotten.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Gary and his family, and to all who are connected to our chapter that are going through, or have gone through, these types of heart-breaking situations. Since we may never know the last time that we might see that loved one, friend, family member, supplier or co-worker, we should always remember that a hug, a handshake and a thank you to those around us is greatly appreciated – let’s keep those in our lives always in our hearts. Sincerely, John A. Puslat President – Miami Valley NARI Owner of Window & Door Designs LLC
How can I get an iPad without spending big $$$$?
With Miami Valley NARI’s New Membership Campaign! In November, Miami Valley NARI launched its new membership campaign. Though we want new members to keep our industry and association strong, drawings based on recruiting new members are getting 10 9 all the buzz. Steve Jobs may be gone, but you could own part of his 8 7 6 legacy if you’re able to recruit new members. What’s 5 4 the story? 3 For each new member you recruit, you’ll be entered 2 1 to win an iPad; the more you recruit, the more you’re entered to win. The iPads will keep coming throughout the campaign, and a drawing will be conducted at the Membership Meeting immediately following the sign up of the tenth new member. So, if you recruit two of the ten new members, you‘ll be entered twice – and so on. Recruit your industry friends; tell them the advantages we enjoy as members, and you don’t have to tell them that you could win an iPad - keep that one to yourself until they are an eligible member and begin recruiting! This campaign continues through November 2013.
