Fall 2026

Overview

At Miami Country Day School, your child's experience in our After School Club Program is very important to us. We strive to make each experience enjoyable and safe. Our after-school clubs are designed for Lower School students to participate in an organized after school activity from 3:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. Monday - Friday.

These clubs alleviate the need for our parents to carpool to off-campus after school activities.

Each club is taught by a MCDS faculty member or trusted vendor and is geared toward enhancing your child's overall school experience.

Any rules we institute are to ensure your child's safety and enjoyment of the club program above all else. Please refer to the Lower School Handbook for specific behavior and expectation policies. Again, we must emphasize that these rules are implemented for your child's safety.

Complying with all rules and policies will make the After School Club experience more enjoyable.

Dismissal Information Pick-up Location: LS Tu rnaround Pick-upTime: 4:35pm -4:SOpm

*Pick-up is at Lower School Turnaround from 4:35pm to 4:50pm.

Students not picked up by 4:50pm will join the Extended Care, and the daily fee will be applied to the family account

Program Policies Procedures Please visit the Country Day Clubs Portal to complete the forms and registration.

All clubs are on a first come, first-serve basis and registration will open on August 10, 2026 at 1 :00 PM and will close August 17, 2026 at midnight. Spaces are limited in many of the clubs, to guarantee the safety and quality of each program so please sign up early. If your student does not wish to continue in a club, immediately notify the LS Clubs Coordinator at lsclubs@miamicountryday.org.

Cancellation Policy

Students are welcome to switch clubs provided there is an available spot in the desired club. While no refunds will be issued for switching clubs, an additional fee may apply if the new club has a higher cost. For cancellations, the following applies; o After 1 class: Full refund minus the cost of one class. o After 2 classes: Full refund minus the cost of two classes. o After 3-4 classes: Refund of 50% of the remaining balance. o After 5 or more classes: No refunds will be issued.

Not attending clubs one afternoon?

Our students' security is of the utmost importance. You must notify us via concierge pad by 2:00 PM by deleting your club for that day. In addition, notification from a parent is required for the following: o If your child is to be picked up by someone not listed on your concierge pad account. o If your child is to go home with another child.

Early Pick-up? Must happen by 4:15 PM with advance notice.

Club Members

Only registered club members may attend club sessions.

Technology Policy

Our school policy does not allow for the use of cell phones in Lower School; this also includes After School Clubs. After School Clubs reserves the right to confiscate phones and hand them back at club dismissal. iPads are only allowed when working on homework during club holding time.

Extended Day

Extend your child's day of learning and fun with our Extended Day program.

T he Extended Day Program offers supervised childcare for all Lower School students five days a week throughout the regular school days. The program begins immediately following dismissal and concludes at 6:00pm (any time after 6pm a charge of $1 per minute will be added). It may be used on a regular basis or as the need arises. Students are also welcomed to join Extended Day at the conclusion of any of their after-school activities.

Architecture | Architecture Jr Grades: 3rd - 5th (Tuesday) | SK5 - 2nd (Friday) The Kids Architecture Program (KAP) is a remarkable curriculum developed for children from Kindergarten to 12th Grade. KAP is aimed not only at introducing students to the architectural profession and the fundamentals of architecture, but also at forming the foundations of design, artistic, and volumetric spatial thinking, developing creative potential, as well as STEM-relative skills such as problem-solving, inquiry skills, math and science skills, engineering design, critical thinking, collaboration, and others. Students will bring home their projects at the end of the session.

Ballet Jr. Grades: PK3 - SK5 (Wednesdays) In this fun and engaging dance class, students will explore the joy of dance through music, movement, and imaginative play. Families will be invited to a brief Mini Ballet Showcase on the last day of class to celebrate all they have learned.

Little Doctors School® Grades: PK3 -SK5 (Mondays) An award-winning STEM enrichment program that introduces students to the exciting world of medicine through hands-on activities, role-playing, and real medical tools. Developed by physicians and educators, the program inspires curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence as students learn about the human body and the work of healthcare professionals. Throughout the course, students use real medical instruments such as stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, and reflex hammers, explore the heart, lungs, and digestive system, practice basic surgical skills including suturing and knot tying, and discover what it takes to become a doctor. The program concludes with a graduation ceremony where students receive their Little Medical School diploma.

Developed by physicians and educators, the curriculum combines role-playing, interactive activities, and real-life healthcare concepts to teach children how babies grow, develop, and stay healthy. Throughout the program, students learn how to care for a newborn, perform a basic baby wellness exam, change diapers, feed and bathe a baby, understand the importance of vaccinations, and practice infant emergency skills, including choking response and CPR. Students also explore safe sleep practices, prepare for becoming an older sibling, and celebrate their achievements with a graduation ceremony and diploma.

Mini Mad Scientists Grades: PK3 - SK5 (Fridays) Mix, fizz, and make crazy cool experiments!

In this wild and wacky science lab, students will mix colorful concoctions, make slime that glows, and watch baking soda volcanoes erupt! They’ll learn about states of matter, simple chemical reactions, and the magic of science through exciting, hands-on experiments. By the end, they’ll be able to wow their families with their own mad scientist tricks!

By the end of the program, they’ll have the skills and confidence to capture professional quality images while expressing their unique creative perspective.

Piano Grades: 1st - 5th (Fridays) Our piano club welcomes your child! This club is open to beginner piano students who would like to learn their chords, improve their sight-reading ability, and receive extra support while they independently practice. Each child will have their own keyboard station and will receive group and independent instruction. All students will learn scales, chords, and finger exercises to not only strengthen proper playing technique, increase stamina, and develop speed and overall dexterity, but also deepen their understanding of music theory.

Spartan Splash: A Gateway to Aquatics Grades: PK3 - 5th Dive into fun after school! Spartan Splash is a recreational, guided swim time packed with aquatic games, movement, and laughter - perfect for kids to unwind and have fun in the water after a busy school day. This is not a swim team or swim lesson, just safe, structured pool play with a purpose. Build confidence in the water, enjoy teamwork and social play in a fun low-pressure environment.

Featured Pool Games: Sharks and Minnows Cat and Mouse Pigeon Pool noodle races, Treasure dives, Float challenges, and more!

Swim Test Requirement: To participate, swimmers must complete a swim test on the first day: Swim 1 length of the pool (any stroke, continuous effort).

Sports Smorgasbord Grades: PK3 - JK4 (Tuesdays) | PK3 -SK5 (Fridays) Let’s get active! In this class for younger students, we’ll review fitness-focused games, activities, and an introduction to team sports. Students will put their bodies in motion and release surplus energy to help them be more present at school and at home. Tech Titans Grades: 3rd - 5th (Tuesdays) Tech Titans give students the opportunity to explore creativity and technology while learning to solve problems through hands-on projects in the Garner Center for Innovation. Students are introduced to design thinking, iteration, and collaborative problem solving as they design, build, and test their ideas. Students explore block-based coding through platforms like Scratch and Blockly, creating animations and games, and programming robots to complete challenges and solve problems. They also learn 3D design using Tinkercad and bring their ideas to life through 3D printing.

Designed for our youngest makers, and instilling the belief that meaningful engagement with technology begins not with screens, but with playful exploration and hands-on tinkering. Through building, taking apart, and investigating, students develop the creative confidence and problemsolving skills that build from a playful entry point with the tools and technologies in the GCI. As their ideas grow, so do the possibilities—introducing age-appropriate experiences with a variety of playful making and tinkering activities, including woodworking, coding, robotics, digital fabrication, and electronics, through imaginative, open-ended challenges. Tinker Tech lays a foundation for curiosity and joyful discovery, empowering a mindset for being creators.

Tiny Tumblers Grades: 2nd - 4th (Mondays) Tiny Tumblers is the perfect introduction to movement and basic tumbling skills! Triathlon Swim Training Grades: 4th ONLY The 4th Grade Triathlon is one of Miami Country Day’s most exciting tradition! Every fouth grader has the opportunity to particpate in this unforgettable event, and swim is the first step to an amazing race.
