BIOGRAPHY

Russian artist, photographer, creator of the conceptual art-movement “TimeArt”. His paintings can be seen in numerous collections in Russia, East Europe and North America. His works have been acquired by the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, as well as by private collectors in Russia, Germany, Holland, Finland, France, Italy, Israel and the United States. He studied at Muchina Academy of Arts and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia. Valery Shablovsky is a member of the “Union of Russian Artists” and member of IFA (International Federation of Artists). He has exhibited in many solo and group shows. Acclaimed as Russia’s Pollock by Italian critic Achille Bonito. In 1977, Shablovsky was accepted to the Mukhina Academy of Arts and Design in St. Petersburg. In his student years, he was influenced by Picasso, Klee and Kandinsky. In 1982, Shablovsky graduated from the Academy and joined the art group ‘Parallel.’ This group, which was founded by L. Kutzenko, V. Povarova and M. Gorokhova (a student of Malevich), strove to unite the traditions of the Russian Avant-garde. In 1985, Shablovsky’s work became part of the UNESCO Encyclopedia of World Graphics. In 1986, he was asked to teach Drawing at the Mukhina Art Academy, St. Petersburg. He taught there for one year. In 1987, Shablovsky began to exhibit his work in the major galleries in St. Petersburg. In 1991, after traveling to Altai in Southern Siberia, Shablovsky developed his sign-structure concept, which becomes part of the ArtTime movement. In 1994, he traveled to India and further developed his concepts. In 1996, Shablovsky was invited to become a member of the Union of Russian Artists and the International Federation of Artists. In 1998, he began to concentrate fully on his ArtTime concept. In 2000, Italian critic Achille Bonito, reviewing the artist’s earlier work in Milan, calls Shablovsky “Russia’s Pollock.” In 2001, his work “Blue Time” was chosen for a major exhibition Abstraction in Russia XX Century, Russian Museum, St. Petersburg. The museum then acquired “Blue Time” for its permanent collection. Also, Shablovsky’s “System of a Circle” becomes part of the museum’s collection. In February 2002, Shablovsky organized an Action as part of his project “Seeing Sculpture” in St. Petersburg. In 2003, he participated in Black and White Petersburg, an exhibition at the Russian Museum. His photograph “West” was published as a double-page spread in the Catalogue. In 2004, his art film “Solo for Excavator” was presented in the CEC ArtsLink programme: “New Russian Video” in the gallery ‘Art in General’, New York. In 2006, he participated in Collage of Russia, Russian Museum, St. Petersburg. He had two solo shows: Tsiverblat, Gallery Jam Hall, St. Petersburg, and TimeOffArt, State Kuntzkamera Museum, St. Petersburg. Also in 2006, he began teaching Drawing at the University of Technology and Design, St. Petersburg. In 2007, he had a solo exhibition, End of Time, Museum of Anna Akhmatova/Sarai Gallery. In 2008 ,Biennale,Izmir, Turke , In 2009 “Artbodyfest” St.Petersburg/Loft-Etagi.

A MAN AND SPACE

At present mankid is gradually mastering space but so far still within the limites of our galaxy. Penetration of the space objects of the terrestrial origin on more remote distances is actually impossible. For a time being. But a man is a part of space.this design is an attempt of time, into the far away places of the universe by means of multimedia installation.

The wather’s flow… The flow of time… The people often compare the people often compare the time with the water. Two symbols of time – water and clock – face uniting, from structures detached from the idea of time.

LIGHTS CHINA

The light reflections of the electric motior’s sigsn of big cities are represented in the project.Various distortions of reflections create destruction of the sense line of the advertising signs froming a detached view on the obtrusively repeating images.
