TRIP REPORTS Craig’s Hut Labour Day Weekend Trip Sat 7 March – Mon 9 March, 2020 By Nick and Deb Leask Saturday Well before COVID-19 was a thing, the club had arranged a trip to the Craig’s Hut area over the Labour Day long weekend. It was a sunny Saturday morning. Nick and Deb arrived first, well before the agreed meet-up time of 10:30am and went for a stroll through the Mansfield Botanical park. Members slowly trickled in and we had a huddle over a collection of members maps to agree the route we would take to King Hut where we planned to set up base camp. David Wilson had sent a message saying he would join

up with us later in the day. With Rick leading the way, we left in convoy travelling out of Mansfield towards Mounts Buller & Stirling. On the way we passed through Merrijig which was holding a rodeo over the weekend and probably accounted for the unusual volume of utes, swags, and Akubra’s we saw around Mansfield.
