METHODIST GIRLS' SCHOOL

MUSIC ELECTIVE PROGRAMME

Established in 1983, the MOE Music Elective Programme (MEP) is a 4-year special programme that allows students who have interest, musical potential and talent to pursue an in-depth study and practice in music. The enriched curriculum allows students to hone their abilities in listening and aural perception, creating and performances. Through hands-on music-making and programmes designed in partnership with the arts and creative industries, MEP students are exposed to a rich musical environment. Students who offer O-Level Higher Music will be able to use their Higher Music grade in lieu of a Humanities subject to gain admission into a JC/CI. Students of all nationalities who are admitted into the MEP within an Independent School are eligible for a fee subsidy up to a cap of $2400 per student per year. However, MEP students who also qualify for other Singapore-MOE awards, such as the Edusave Scholarship for Independent Schools (EESIS) are entitled to only one award (i.e. either the MEP fee subsidy or EESIS).
