Elections for executive board positions will be held April 7. View the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee position descriptions below and reach out to your SAAC team representative to see how you can apply and get involved! President: Think you have what it takes to represent all student-athletes at the University, Athletic Department, Big Ten and NCAA level? Apply for the position of SAAC president if you have served at least one year as a SAAC representative in the general assembly. This role will help set the vision, goals and objectives of the student-athlete community. Vice President: If you have served at least one year in SAAC and are comfortable speaking in public, vice president is the job for you! As VP, you will assist in leading discussions, oversee the SAAC budget, and organize general assembly meetings. This position calls for individuals who are able to engage members and are passionate about improving the student-athlete experience. Digital Media Lead: The digital media Lead will ensure SAAC maintains a positive image online through the maintenance of the @mgosaac social media accounts and website. Marketing & Communication Chair: The marketing & communication chair is consistent with updating all social media accounts. This position will work closely with the digital media lead to create interesting posts that help spread the word about SAAC and update the community about student-athlete activities. Public Relations Lead: The PR Lead is responsible for communicating with the general public about events and community service. This role also includes serving as the managing editor of the South Campus Times. Those with strong writing, editing, and publishing skills wanted! Community Service Chair: Do you have a strong desire to give back to the community? Interested in philanthropy? Apply for the community service chair and oversee outreach events under the Lets Go Do program. You will work closely with other student-athletes in the community engagement sub-committee to plan Mock Rock productions and other service projects. SAAC VP for Legislative Reform: The VP for legislation reform, or compliance vice, is the voice for student-athletes at the Big Ten and NCAA level in regards to major policy chances.
