Then there’s another song called ‘Mighty Hand’ and that song is a really intimate song but it’s one of those songs that has a lot of grit to it and I really love it. Then there’s ‘My Salvation’. These are three songs that I think stand out on ‘The Royalty’.” “We believe as a band that as artists we want to create the best art for God but not just that. We want to glorify God through our art and we believe and agree that worship is the ultimate expression of art towards God. One of our favourite authors, (G.K Chesterton) said in an essay
‘The best thing that man can do is to praise God because it is the only thing that he can properly do towards God’. We want to enter into that place of the ultimate thing that we can do for God to glorify His name. In Revelation, John walks into the Holy of Holies and all he sees in the Holy of Holies before the throne are the 24 elders of his land that are
lifting their crowns and they’re worshipping and they are simply saying to God ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord’. For us that’s the highest thing we can do as artists. We are artists; we’re not simply church musicians or guys that if we weren’t doing Royal wouldn’t be doing anything. We actually have other bands that we are a part of, so we have
other expressions that we have that are not for worship. But we do feel that worship is the highest expression that we can do for God. When we come to God with what we have, we want to give Him something that costs us something- David said. So we’re going to give Him our most costly art, and that is our worship. We do it all with the desire to glorify God, make His name great, lift the name of Jesus high but also to equip the church to do the same thing. For Royal we’re a conduit of all that and all we want to do is connect. We’re a connector, we want to connect the church with God in a process of worship and let it fly.” Being passionate about worship is one thing but knowing that you’re called to lead people into worship is another thing. The passage of scripture “Many are called but few are chosen” gets repeated a lot by Christians but what was it that really let Gabe and Nate know that they were made to do this (chosen)…. “We really felt God leading,
