iona has been spending most of the Winter months teaching violin and also writing music, some of which will be included in this concert. This will range from a piece dedicated to her father, Jim’s Gypsy Groove; two moody and vibrant tango numbers, Dark Dreaming and Torango; and a classical-jazz number, Behind the Hills, during which you can imagine yourself on the Port Hills on a dark night. She is also thinking of including Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance. “Moody tango is one of my passions.
