Looking for a ride that will stand out? RYAN BORROFF

METRO WORLD NEWS DRIVE@METRONEWS.CA

Interior

Test Drive. Nissan Juke

The inside has been cleverly-designed to be far more spacious than the exterior would suggest. It looks cool too, with a centre console inspired by the design of a motorcycle tank.

Nissan has shown that it is daring in its design with this unusual-looking proposition, the Nissan Juke. The car is a crossover mixing SUV and sports car. The combination might sound unlikely but it really works. This stylish and feisty little crossover city car, with its tough good looks, is designed, and set, to attract style-conscious men to the SUV segment.

Exterior A crossover fusion of SUV and sports car doesn’t sound like a recipe for success, but this one is excellent. The combination of SUV up top and sports car down below works a treat.

By the numbers

Performance

Base price: $19,998 Engine: 1.6-litre Direct Injection Gasoline DOHC 16valve turbocharged 4-cylinder engine

Best thing

Worst thing

Its unique, quirky good looks and deceptively spacious interior.

Its poor eco performance — the fuel economy and carbon emissions are not as green as they should be, in 2011.

Power: 188 horsepower

You’ll get great visibility as you ride up high, SUVstyle, but the car handles like a sports car, with very little body roll and a gokart feel in bends.
