Gospel singer to touch down in Edmonton Seed of Hope will be hosting the Concert of Hope in two Alberta cities next week. In support of development in South Africa, award-winning

gospel singer Jon Buller will be performing in Edmonton and Calgary. “This concert is an opportunity for people to hear about the amazing things that are happening in South Africa,” said Kelly Schwartz, a director on the Seed of Hope Canada board. Buller will be performing in Edmonton at the Central Baptist Church on Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Calgary at the Gateway International Church on Nov. 1. METRO

Homeless Could troop woman still be a tongue missing biter? RCMP in Bonnyville are looking for a homeless woman who hasn’t been seen by friends or family for three weeks. Mary Jane Corbiere, 76, known as Ella, is four-foot10 with brown hair, brown eyes and is often seen hauling a wire cart, wearing a knee-length brown winter jacket and a toque. METRO

Cold Lake RCMP are now investigating the possibility that a British soldier is the suspect in a tonguebiting incident that took place on Oct. 3. According to RCMP, a woman alleged a man bit off a portion of her tongue. She required hospitalization for her injury. METRO

Premier Ed Stelmach has one more reason to fly north to see firsthand the health impacts of the oilsands. University students lobbying to have the government deal with the health issue have presented Stelmach’s aides with a $220 open-ended, round-trip air ticket to Fort Chipewyan. Stelmach’s team accepted the cheque, but didn’t say when or whether the premier would go. Residents of the largely aboriginal community have long complained that effluents from the oilsands harm their drinking water, make them ill and cause cancer.
