In the workshop

With hammer and software The in-house workshop combines the latest technology with the traditional goldsmith’s craft. This is where a designer and five goldsmiths – two of whom are Swiss master craftsmen – create and produce jewellery to individual specifications as well as exquisite pieces for the various Lohri collections.

The tools used by an exclusive goldsmith are as many and varied as the items of jewellery they handle. There are no limits to customers’ wishes and the creativity employed in fulfilling them. The photo shows a selection of mills and drill bits for chasing techniques.

Beim Löten werden die gleichen Metalle mit verschiedenen Legierungen verbunden. Dabei hat das Lot einen tieferen Schmelzpunkt als die zu verbindenden Metalle und wird auf 800 bis 900 Grad erhitzt. The same metals are soldered together using different alloys. In this way, the solder has a lower melting point than the metals to be joined; it is heated to 800-900 degrees.
