Watches – enthusiastic advice

Placing a value on time The world’s best names represent values that Lohri also claim as their own. The fine watches from these manufacturers are displayed in fitting surroundings at Neugasse 9 and 27. A fascination for technical masterpieces and passion for fine craftsmanship enable the Lohri specialists to give watch-lovers individual advice enabling them to find their next favourite timepiece.

«WE DISPLAY WATCHES FROM 13 MANUFACTURERS OF A UNIQUELY HIGH QUALITY LEVEL.»

Who can resist the seductive charm of the most exclusive watches? At Neugasse 9 the family firm has been bringing together the inventiveness, craftsmanship and technical wizardry of the greats among watch manufacturers for over 30 years. Patek Philippe, a byword for the ultimate in the watchmaker’s art, the creativity and innovation of Hublot or the rare mechanical watches from H. Moser & Cie. with their stylish designs – to name but a few. «We stock a very luxurious range,» says Managing Director Christoph Stotzer. «We have 13 makes of watches, all of a uniquely high quality.» He is particularly proud of the fact that the extension and renovation of the shop premises in 2014 made space for an even greater selection of watches to be displayed. This broad range means they can give customers individual advice and comprehensive comparisons to help them make the right choice. Enthusiastic advice «There isn’t just one watch that is right for a person.» Christoph Stotzer points out that it is more a case of how they want to use their watch – in their business lives, private lives or to enhance their outfit on a special occasion. «We believe it is important to get to know our customers, understand them and work together to find the watch that

best suits them and will bring many years of pleasure.» As specialists in chronometry, his advisers have a lot of expertise, including background knowledge about the manufacturers, their craftsmanship and their rich history. «We love passing this knowledge on to our customers,» he says. Many of their customers are collectors – the skilled team is also competent to advise horological experts and connoisseurs. How do you build up a collection to ensure that it holds its value and becomes worth more than the sum of its parts? This is another area helped by the wide range of top brands on offer, together with the tangible enthusiasm and passion of the staff for the innovative timepieces of Haute Horlogerie. Tradition and trends «A watchmaker like Patek Philippe – surely the most famous name – represents the same values as we do,» says Christoph Stotzer. Such values include tradition, quality and technical skill, aesthetics and independence. «These are timeless watches that deserve to be heirlooms.» They are also fully aware of the latest trends. «Large watches were in vogue for a long while. Now many people prefer to wear ones of a smaller diameter. Classic watches are becoming increasingly popular,» Christoph Stotzer continues. And they are set to become simpler, with purer lines and fewer functions – like the classic three-hand watch showing hours, minutes and seconds. «Less is more – and the real luxury is to have time.»
