Warmest greetings from the Editorial Team.

So, we have reached the 3rd quarter of 2010. Metro Parking continues to put up strong results, while constantly improving our level of services from time to time. Our efforts in improving the business were acknowledged recently. The Group Managing Director, En Halmi Jasmin have received one prestigious award in the Business Of The Year Award 2010, namely the "Corporate Leader of the Year". It therefore recognizes the management’s commitment in building up the reputation of the company. Congratulations to En Halmi Jasmin.

We have also secured a few new car parks contracts as reported in this issue. Congratulations to the Development Team in further expanding our territory. On other aspects, we have organized family days for Central Region and Southern Region recently. The days were full of fun-filled activities. This was certainly a form of reward to our dedicated staff and their loving family members. As the fasting month is around the corner, I am pleased to wish all Muslim staff “ Selamat Berpuasa” and hope that we live the Ramadhan with patience and serenity. “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”, after a month of fasting, it is time for celebration during “Aidilfitri” The Editor

NOTE FROM THE GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR My Dear Colleagues, Welcome to the 3rd quarter of the year 2010. It has been quite a hectic and memorable experience for all of us. The achievement of various awards will not be materialised without the hard work, commitment and teamwork projected and engaged by the Board, management and staff. This can be reflected through the firm contracts of new car parks by our Business Development Team. The momentum and zeal demonstrated must not be slowed down. We must continue in the remaining quarter that we have in breaking new barriers and grounds. The push factor is within us and let us not relax before realising a new height has been set when we close the chapter of 2010. Metro Parking (M) Sdn Bhd was nominated to receive another two prestigious awards during the " 4th Business of The Year Award 2009 " organized by "SMI & SME Worldwide Network". The Awards were :1. "Corporate Leader of the Year" given to En Halmi Jasmin, Group Managing Director, Metro Parking Group 2. "Service provider of the Year" given to Metro Parking (M) Sdn. Bhd. The Award giving ceremony and gala dinner was held on 20th June 2010 at the Grand Dorsett Hotel, Subang. The Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industries, YB Dato' Mukhriz Mahathir has been invited as the Guest of Honor to give away the Award during the event.

Metro Parking Southern Region had organized a trip to Jakarta and Bandung on 23-26 July 2010. This trip was held in honour to 11 staff that has served 15 years and above. The place visited in Bandung was Trade Centre at Gunung Tangkuban Perahu. Shopping activities were done at “Rumah Mode”, and the area, Pasar Baru and Mangga Dua. At Jakarta, they also visited Monumen National Tower (Monas) which is the symbol of Indonesia Independent and Istiqlal Mosque, the biggest mosque in Indonesia.

“BERBUKA PUASA DAN SOLAT TARAWIH” Metro Parking , Southern Region

“EARLY RAMADHAN ALMUBARAK CELEBRATION” On 9th August 2010, MP Southern Region has organised an early Ramadhan Al-Mubarak celebration at their office. About 40 staff attended the function.

Mahkota Medical Centre, Melaka Car park upgrading’ for open site and main bulding The Breaking of Fast or “ Majlis Berbuka Puasa” function was held on 1st September 2010 at SPMS office. Among attendees were SPMS staff, MES Staff . The Deputy General Manager of Metro Parking, KL, Mr Zamri Adam also attended the function with Mr Ahmad Fiaza, Haji Shamsuddin and Mr Fauzi.

Staff’s Birthday Celebration for Metro Parking, Southern Region was held on 29th June , 2010 at Training Room, KOMTAR, Johor Bahru. Those born in April – June were celebrated.

WSQ Certified Service Professional (CSP) In line with the Government initiative to deliver excellent, customised and personalised service, this year Metro Parking Singapore had enrolled our workforce for the WSQ Certified Service Professional (CSP) course on how to interact with customers / guests as well as how to exceed service standards. It is a 5-day foundation course in customer service skills. Participants will learn about the mindset and passion of a service professional as well as the basics of customer service, going the extra mile for the customer, giving the customer a personalized and customized service and delighting the customer in a team setting. At the end of this programme, participants will be awarded the WSQ Certified Service Professional Certificate from the Workforce Development Agency (WDA). It is recognized that service is extended not only to external customers but internal customers as well. The Service Excellence WSQ operations modules serve as foundational units in the journey towards service excellence for all workers in Singapore.

BRANCHNEWS Metro Parking Philippines had a company outing at a resort called Island Cove Resort located in Cavite two hours drive away from Manila on May 22, 2010. About 50 staff joined this trip to have fun and relaxation. Although only a day trip , our staff were able to unwind and enjoy themselves swimming and taking part in sport activities such as obstacle course and boat relay with good foods afterwards. This was a successful trip for all.

BRANCHNEWS From the month of June to August 2010, Metro Parking India has secured 3 new car park contracts as follows: Dreams the Mall Metro Parking started its operation at Dreams the Mall, located in Bhandup (West), Mumbai on Tuesday, 1st June 2010. The mall was completed by March 2008. The parking area consists of approximately 600 bays basement parking. The estimated built up area for the entire project is approximately 1.11 million square feet and is estimated to have a plinth area of approximately 0.25 million square feet. R Mall 2, Thane Metro Parking started its operation at R Mall 2, located in Thane, Maharashtra on Sunday, 1st August 2010. The parking area consists of approximately 300 bays basement parking. The mall has an area of 600,000 square feet. Multi Build Sangam Big Cinema Metro Parking started its operation at Multi Build Sangam Big Cinema in Andheri (East) on Sunday, 1st August 2010. The parking area consists of 2 basement parking approximately 160 bays. The building was renovated and completed on July 30, 2010 and become a much cinema hall in Mumbai with state of the art of refurbishment

SPORTCLUBNEWS Metro Parking Southern Region

Metro Parking’s Sports and Recreation Club Central Region held their Staff Gathering & Treasure Hunt on 17-18 July at Casa Rachado, Beach Resorts, Tanjung Tuan , Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.


This colorful and fun event was attended by General Manager (Malaysia) En Yusof Ismail and Group Managing Director, En Halmi Jasmin. About 200 staff together with their family members attended the function. The event was filled with activities including treasure hunt, telematch, dinner and other fun activities. All those presented had a good time.

The event was held on 31 July, 2010. For this year, Metro Parking, Southern Region had chosen Tanjung Puteri Golf Resort, Pasir Gudang as the venue for this annual event. The event was participated by about 230 participants consisting of Metro Parking Southern Region’s staff and MES. Metro Parking Central Region

“BERBUKA PUASA DAN SOLAT TARAWIH” The breaking of fast or “ Berbuka Puasa” function was held on 27th August, 2010 at Block K Hall, Pusat Bandar Damansara, KL. The function was organized by Sports & Recrations Club. Among the attendees during the function were our Group Managing Director, Encik Halmi Jasmin, Managers and staffs of Metro Parking, Kuala Lumpur. Metro Parking Southern Region


The Talk was held on 27th May 2010 at KOMTAR , Johor Bahru. The topic regarding “Hari Kiamat”.
