As much as we wanted to have a new No. 1 team, it could not be justiďŹ ed, even after the Cards were swept by the Rangers over the weekend. The losses were by a combined ďŹ ve runs, and St. Louis still leads all of baseball in wins. The Cardsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; pitching continues to dominate as theyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve allowed four runs or less in ďŹ ve of their last seven games.

Following their sweep of the Cardinals over the weekend, the Rangers jumped ďŹ ve spots back into the Top 5.

Detroit wrapped up a 4-3 week, capped oďŹ&#x20AC; by taking three of four games from the Red Sox at home.

Arizona won four in a row at one point this past week, enabling them to take a three-game lead in the NL West.

Unlike seasons past, the oďŹ&#x20AC;ense has performed up to par with their pitching. They are fourth in the league in runs scored.

Atlanta continues to run away with the NL East, as it is the only team in the division with a positive run diďŹ&#x20AC;erential.

After going 2-5 this past week, the Aâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s dropped ďŹ ve spots in the rankings to No. 8. They allowed 34 runs in those ďŹ ve losses.

The Yankees remain in third place in the competitive AL East, but still are within striking distance at any time.

Following a ďŹ ve-game losing skid this week, the Rockies won both games this weekend and are second in the NL West.

For most of the season, people have played â&#x20AC;&#x153;wait and seeâ&#x20AC;? with the Pirates, but its time to start taking them seriously.

There is no denying the NL Central is the best division in baseball and theyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re right in the thick of the race.

Injuries and poor starting pitching are starting to catch up to the Sox as they dropped four spots in the rankings this week.

The Orioles were swept by the surging Blue Jays with their pitching having been an issue of late.

No one can deny the Blue Jays are the hottest team in baseball right now, as they won 11 in a row before Monday.

Despite being just three games over .500, the Indians still ďŹ nd themselves in second place in the weak AL Central.
