2019... Amazing. I did my first celebrity interview in 1990 with Sinead O’Connor. I sold it to a small local penny saver for $25.00 and a byline. Over 3,000 stories later here I am, only now I’m the publisher of Metropolis Nights and a father of a wee girl. My how the times have changed. If you would have told me after that first interview I’d be still in the Jersey nightlife business and seeking out interesting people to talk to I’d think you were crazy. I honestly didn’t even think I’d be above ground after decades of decadent living and a hard and very fast life. The Howard Stern years (all 18 of them) were out of control. I did and said things that were shocking and bizarre while 16 million people listened laughed. I interviewed presidents, Oscar winners, Hall of Fame athletes, reality TV stars, super-models and even a convicted killer. I’ve seen and done it all. I watched bars and nightclubs open and close. I’ve watched the comedy scene flourish and die out and flourish again. I’ve seen local youthful bands grow old. I published on 9/11 when my heart wasn’t in it but my will was strong. It’s been a heaven and hell inspired roller coaster ride the likes I can’t even begin to comprehend. Now I’m thinking back at all of it. The insanity of all these years and all the highs and lows. My face has aged, my hair is gone and my eyes not nearly as sharp. I’ve lost a lot, but I’ve also gained so much. I’ve seen friends come and go. I’ve said good-bye to my father, my brother, my best friend and my soulmate. Yet, here I am still sitting at the controls of this remarkable ride..... another issue—another year and I’m still here. To all of you who have known me or have seen these words “Interview by Chaunce Hayden”, I say Happy New Year and God bless you all. Thank you for taking this ride with me for as long as you have. Let the journey continue!
Happy New Year, Chaunce Hayden publisher

RECAP! By Otto D Man Cave (Otto D)
It’s A Given That the only reason guys lift the toilet seat at their girlfriends house is to see if any other men have been over!
Let’s talk mechanics gentleman shall we...anyone know the difference between a 2 stroke engine and a 4 stroke engine? Chances are 2 out of 10 men can and that’s being generous. So lets start from the beginning of automotive engineering. There are 2 types of combustion engines, 2 cycle and 4 cycle (no not like bi-cycle). It’s almost self explanatory when you hear the word stroke where I’m sure most men are no strangers to. Rite, stroke it twice or four times to complete satisfaction. To create combustion an engine must consist of a gas-air mixture to create expulsion through your exhaust system. On a 2 cycle the piston must revolve twice (up & down) to draw air or fuel in and out creating an explosion of energy in the cylinder which creates your power. Fumes exit through a your exhaust valve on the second stroke. Now on a 4 stroke each piston must go up and down 4 times at an incredible rate to create full combustion. When the piston goes down it is considered the power stroke and all valves are shut. Spark plug ignites your air-fuel mixture in the cylinder and on the up stroke will release the fumes through one of the valves. Each time on any stroke of the piston either up or down a valve on the head will open and close depending on if it is drawing air or fuel. The last way to tell what type of motor you have besides the sound differences is how oil is delivered. 2 stroke engines are pre-mixed at certain required ratios where the oil is mixed into the gasoline and injected directly into the cylinder. 4 stroke motors (your car) carry an oil pump and disburses or injects by pump into the proper areas. At the end of the day everyone should take a moment and research what they drive and how it drives! (Please Stroke Responsibly)
Erin Holland Erin Victoria Holland born 1989 in Cairns Australia is a singer, model, TV Host and the winner of Miss World in 2013. Erin is trained in classical, musical theatre and jazz singing, playing the Clarinet and Saxophone and studied musical theory. Starring in leads in various Broadway shows such as Beauty And The Beast, Annie and Fame. We’re a big fan of Holland not just because of these accomplishments but because of her charity work as well. She’s involved with charities such as Variety, the Children’s Charity, Make A Wish Foundation and an ambassador for McHappy Day, supporting the Ronald McDonald Charity.
2019 is approaching and if you don’t have a snow blower at this point in life then shame on you. Now I can understand if you live in a complex and they take care of all your shit for you including your land scraping (ok so I’m a little jealous). But in all reality the days of shoveling are over. Save some money and do some research and treat yourself to little luxury. Now the question is what type and how big should it be, cause size does matter. You will have to make a decision if you want a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke (we just went over this). In this particular category we’re noticing 2 strokes beginning to fade out. Mostly because of environmental reasons not performance purposes. I personally own a Toro 2 stroke and I have no problems shooting snow into my neighbors driveway under any conditions! Here is a list brands for the new year to take a look at. 1. Toro (2 stroke is an excellent choice) 2. Honda (A household name) 3. Husqvarna (Really have improved) 4. Arien 5. Briggs & Stratton (Eh... Not in generators though)
Kim Domingo Let’s discuss some Filipino hotness (or “mainit” in the language) and start steaming things up around here. This 23 year old FHM uprising bombshell born in Quezon City is an actress, TV host, and singer as well. She is best known for her roles in Juan Happy Love Story as Agatha Samaniego and on the television show Bubble Gang (no it’s not porn)... She released her debut song and music video titled “Know Me” featuring international rapper C-Tru, released under GMA Records. So keep both eyes out for this sexy young lady and remember it’s always hotter in the Philippines! 15
Ding Dong I’m Home They say love is in the eye of the beholder. So hold this, my new love the Gerber Ding Dong! This breaching tool is all a Man Cave man could wish for. A sledgehammer, a battering ram, a pry bar and also an excellent shut the hell up tool. All of which are essential tools for operators who need to get certain jobs done quickly. The huge hammer head is cross-hatched that will grip onto anything it strikes. The fiberglass handle comes equipped with two molded rings spaced to create mechanical stops also ensuring a solid grip. That becomes pretty handy when you lock your keys in the car (especially if it’s a Lambroghini)! So the next time you get the urge to smash, tear and pry just grab your Ding Dong and get busy! Mens Fashion Trends of 2018 There’s no doubt that there have been some amazing fashion trends for men in 2018. With all of the good, there’s bound to be some fashion fails. Here are some of the worst men’s styles of 2018 and how you can avoid or fix them if you’re an offender.
The Dress Shirt Most men think of the classic button-up as a staple piece of clothing in their closet. It’s perfect for the office, on a date, roll up the sleeves, and it can cut it for drinks after work. But not all button-ups are created equal. Often these are bought off the rack, causing them to be ill-fitting and baggy in all the wrong places. Having them tailored can improve the look. If tailoring isn’t in the budget, find shirts of quality material and try on several sizes until you find a sleek fit.
JASON TEZ @TezTrends
Bad Graphic Tees Graphic tees may seem youthful, but they can actually make you look older and like you are trying too hard to be cool. Stay away from overly bright graphics with bulky in your face fonts that are poorly designed. Instead, try muted or faded vintage graphics for a more subtle look that’s perfect for casual occasions. Guess Striped Tee, urbanoutfitters. com | $45
Striped Shirt, zara.com | $45
The oversized trend is back and better than ever. Just don’t get too carried away and risk looking like a misshapen garbage bag. Find balance by choosing to go either loose on top and fitted on the bottom, or vice versa. For a cool, effortless look try an oversized pullover paired with fitted moto jeans. Oversized Denim Jacket, zara.com | $100
Todd Snyder + Champion T-Shirt, mrporter.com | $60

V-necks, in general, are a great basic, but too low of a cut and it can look like the collar has become worn and messy. Stick with clean crew neck t-shirts or sleeker v-necks that fall no more than a few inches below your collarbone to create a more polished look. .

Enjoying A Cigar and An Old Fashioned at
Jimenez Tobacco in Newark
Happy December, everyone! I don’t know about you, but with Christmas around the corner all I have been wanting to do is stay local for places to go and enjoy some nightlife fun. Here is my dilemma, I’ve been feeling the urge for something new besides the usual DJ on a Friday night scene. It’s the holiday season, and I am craving some tradition, quality, and a cozy fireplace to hang my hat. Little did I know my Christmas wish was just around the corner from me at Jimenez Tobacco in Newark, but this place is more than just a speakeasy cigar lounge. The Jimenez family started the business in 1903. What made the company so successful was its focus in the creation of top quality, handmade cigars with a style all their own. By the late sixties, brother and sister Humberto Jimenez and Nelda Pozo-Jimenez came to Newark from Cuba. As time went on, Nelda continued the family tradition of premium cigars blended and made by hand, making Jimenez not only the strong establishment it is today, but gaining notoriety for Nelda being the only female master blender in the country. As far as rich history goes, Jimenez has it in spades. From the time you enter this awesome establishment you’ll be feeling right at home. It has a beautiful outdoor garden area perfect for all outdoor occasions and events. I had the opportunity to visit during a few for both Destination Newark, and a live band night being immediately impressed at the hospitality I received by both owner Peter Jimenez and his staff. Now I know what you are thinking, it’s freezing! Why are you spending time in the cold, you crazy woman? My response would be you are absolutely correct, so allow me to tell you some other perks to coming to this wonderful place. Slide open the door, (and don’t forget the password… don’t worry I’ll spill that secret later), I was beyond happy to see a warm fireplace and comfortable couches. The decor was a seductive, speakeasy vibe, very relaxing…you won’t want to leave after just one drink. The best part? For all you smokers, you can smoke inside! It’s a cigar lounge so you won’t have to go outside and suffer the freezing weather that will/is coming whether we like it or not. The clientele at Jimenez is surprisingly eclectic. You won’t have a problem meeting people, or even starting a conversation. I arrived a stranger, and didn’t leave until the end of the night because I had met so many new

Although my spot on the couch by the fire was hard to leave, I found myself curious and wandered into the bar area where I spotted the live music for the evening. The hostess offered to take my coat, and even helped me find a spot right in the middle of the action. The room itself had a couch and plenty of seating available so you won’t be stuck standing by the wall. When it came time to have a drink, the waitress was quick to recommend Jimenez’s signature cocktail, The Old Fashioned. Compared to most places I’ve been to recently, it is safe to say Jimenez’s mixologists take their craft to a whole new level. Not only was this drink delicious, the preparation this staff takes to create it was like watching an artist paint their masterpiece. They took careful steps, using only the highest quality ingredients, to create one of the best premium cocktails I’ve had in a long time. Take my advice, you won’t want to miss it this holiday season.
Be still my heart, I think I found my perfect local place. Between the hospitality, rich history, top-notch premium cocktails, cigars, and entertainment, Jimenez Tobacco is the place to be this holiday season and beyond. Be sure to follow Jimenez on Facebook and Instagram to see what the beautiful ladies and Peter have in store for you. Thanks for the awesome time, Jimenez staff. I look forward to my next visit there. Until then happy holidays, and cheers and happy eating to you all! Oh, and don’t forget…The password is—Jimenez.
With a cigar in hand, cocktail on the table, and sultry edgy sounds coming from singer SuMyia Dabney, guitarist Randy Haze, and bass guitar Qaaaim Muñoz of The Jimenez House Band in front of me…my night couldn’t have been more enjoyable. The only thing that was missing was an espresso to close the night because hey, I love my late night coffee! Alas, could it be? It’s true caffeine addicts, Jimenez does serve espresso too! You have the option of taking it sweet or not, but either way I guarantee you’ll end up having more than one during your stay.
NOV -- DEC DEC NOV
Besides the drinks, you also have the option of enjoying one of Jimenez’s cigars. Peter or one of his staff are more than happy to advise you in one that will fit your tastes. I am not a smoker, but even I couldn’t resist trying one in order to get the full experience there. To my surprise, the cigar was smooth and enjoyable. Being the skeptic I was in the beginning, I even found the aromatics weren’t overpowering at all. They have different blends available, and if you are curious you can check out each one on their website from home, or stop by for a visit to try for yourself!
and interesting people. One of my favorite things about Jimenez was unlike the typical club or sports bar I’m used to, it didn’t have TVs. Sorry sports lovers, you’ll be able to talk about your team’s latest win, but you can’t watch it. For some, you might see this as a negative, I actually found that without the TVs, it made the experience there for its patrons a lot more intimate. You are able to enjoy everything Jimenez has to offer without the added distraction.

Cobain declares white men can’t rap in unearthed recording...
Kurt Cobain made no apologies for his hot take on white-washed rap. In a recently unearthed 1991 radio interview with University of Western Ontario student Robert Lorusso, the grunge icon detailed his struggle to embrace what he considered to be a “misogynist” genre. “I’m really not that much of a fan. I totally respect and love it because it’s one of the only original forms of music that’s been introduced,” Cobain says, “but the white man doing rap is just like watching a white man dance. We can’t dance, we can’t rap.” Cobain’s cultural commentary doubled down on remarks he made to Billboard earlier that year: “The white man ripped off the black man long enough. They should leave rap music to the African-Americans.” The 9½-minute audio clip — which Lorusso dubs a “trash fire” his friends urged him to release — was recorded as Nirvana prepared to launch a North American promotional tour for the band’s major label breakthrough album, “Nevermind.” The “Smells Like Teen Spirit” singer-songwriter and his bandmates, bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl, parted ways with indie label Sub Pop in 1990 to sign with industry behemoth Geffen, but Lorusso “got a vague sense that he wasn’t really enjoying their success.” Still, the Generation X legend was “remarkably patient and kind” with the admittedly unprepared student journalist. “I was so enamored with and envious of his talent and success,” Lorusso writes. “… When I reflected on this experience, I realized that success doesn’t mean a goddamn thing if your world is falling apart.” Although Cobain’s relationship with rap music was conflicted during his truncated lifetime, he no doubt made an impact on generations of artists. Since his suicide in 1994, he’s been a hip-hop mainstay, Genius.com reports. “Teen Spirit” was sampled by Jay-Z and Lupe Fiasco, and Cobain’s name is dropped on tracks by Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Kid Cudi.
“Brutally Honest” reveals that Brown fell for Belafonte — father of her youngest daughter, Madison, now 7 — on the rebound from her breakup with Eddie Murphy. “I had been spectacularly dumped,” she writes about the end of her relationship with the actor-comedian, whom she describes as “the love of my life.” She and Murphy met through mutual friends at a 2006 dinner party at Murphy’s Hollywood Hills mansion — “Eddie’s kingdom,” Brown calls it — that he had arranged precisely to pursue her. “What had started out as a thunderbolt in his kitchen turned into the most beautiful, nurturing and loving relationship of my life,” writes Brown, who, oddly enough, had once worked at a Leeds jeans shop called Trading Places — the title of Murphy’s 1983 hit film. But the couple had problems after she became pregnant with their daughter, Angel, now 11. While promoting “Dreamgirls,” Murphy announced during an interview on the Dutch TV show “RTL Boulevard” that they had split, unbeknownst to Brown, and questioned whether he was the father of her baby. “It was like a hammer blow to my heart,” she writes. Before Murphy, Brown had more relationship drama with first husband Jimmy Gulzar, her designated “Spice Boy” backup dancer during the 1998 Spiceworld Tour. After she paid for her own engagement ring, the two never consummated their marriage on their wedding night that year. “Jim got into bed, turned his back on me and fell asleep,” Brown writes about the father of her oldest daughter, Phoenix, 19. She divorced Gulzar in 2000. Likening her own sex drive to “a bloody Formula One car,” Brown is open about her bisexuality in “Brutally Honest.” Before she began dating Murphy, she writes, “I’d come out of a very beautiful, loving, five-year relationship with a woman (one I will never, ever discuss because she was extremely private and I will always respect that).” Brown also details having threesomes with Belafonte, many of which she would initiate and always with other women. She allegedly had an affair with their former nanny Lorraine Gilles, although their relationship isn’t discussed in the book, reportedly because of a secret settlement. After making a deathbed promise to her father, Brown finally left Belafonte in 2017 — with just $936 in the only bank account she could access. During an ugly legal battle, she agreed to drop the domestic-violence charges against Belafonte in order for the 64 sex tapes he’d made during their marriage not to be shown in open court. But Brown watched them all herself, painfully, at a small hotel in LA’s Koreatown. “I was going to let myself cry,” she writes. “I was going to let myself fall, but I was not going to let myself check out. Never again. I had to believe that this was all for a purpose. That my power would come back to me, my light would shine again.” Indeed it will: Brown will be reuniting with the Spice Girls — minus Victoria Beckham, a k a Posh Spice — for a UK stadium tour kicking off in June 2019. It will mark the group’s second reunion trek since breaking up in 2000. “Girl Power has grown up,” Brown writes in the “Brutally Honest” epilogue, “and I want to learn from my past and grow up with it.”
spills on bisexuality, attempted suicide and drugs in tell-all memoir
Back in the ’90s, when the Spice Girls were hot, Melanie Brown, aka Mel B, was known around the world as Scary Spice. But Brown’s life became truly scary a couple of decades later, when, as a mother of three daughters trapped in an allegedly abusive marriage to second husband Stephen Belafonte, she attempted suicide. Before the December 2014 finals of “The X Factor” in London, for which she was a judge, she overdosed by taking 200 aspirin. “As each pill goes into my mouth, I ask myself, ‘Are you sure?’ ” Brown, now 43, remembers. “And I take another one. Ten, 20, 50. A hundred. ‘Are you sure?’ ” It was her second suicide attempt: The first came when she was just 14. Leaving the hospital against doctor’s orders, she still went on to appear on the “X Factor” finale. Such are the relationship, mental-health and substance-abuse struggles that Brown gets real about in “Brutally Honest,” her new memoir, out Tuesday. Since marrying Belafonte (no relation to Harry Belafonte) in a quickie Las Vegas ceremony in 2007, Brown had lost much of the inherent Girl Power that took her from being a brown biracial kid growing up in Leeds, England, to one-fifth of the biggest girl group on the planet: the Spice Girls. “It was up to [Stephen] whether I was a piece of filth that day or a goddess or a whore,” writes the “America’s Got Talent” judge, who drank and took cocaine to numb the pain of a troubled marriage that had cut her off from her parents.

The stunning downfall of UFC human Ken doll
Sage Northcutt BY CHAUNCE HAYDEN
Looks don’t get you everywhere in this world. Young gun Sage Northcutt found that out the hard way on Tuesday when he was let go from the UFC despite winning his past three fights. UFC president Dana White provided some clarity on the 22-year-old’s situation, saying the promotion didn’t want to sign him to another deal after his current contract expired. White said Northcutt is still raw and, despite his impressive resume in the UFC, would benefit by maturing in another promotion. “His contract was up, so we let him go,” White said. “Sage is young and Sage needs some work. So let him get some work in one of these other organizations and we’ll see where this kid ends up in a couple of years and maybe we’ll pick him back up again.” Northcutt last fought in July, when he left with a second-round KO of Zak Ottow. He’s won six times in eight
visits to the Octagon, fighting at welterweight and lightweight. Since losing via a second-round submission to Mickey Gall in late 2016, Northcutt has done all that’s been asked of him. Two unanimous decision victories over Michel Quinones and Thibault Gouti preceded his latest win over Ottow. The UFC’s refusal to give him another contract is a kick in the guts — or the six-pack — for Northcutt, who burst onto the scene as a teenager with an opening round KO of Francisco Trevino at UFC 192 in 2015. Then 19, Northcutt’s future looked as bright as his teeth. He was discovered on reality TV show “Dana White: Looking for a Fight” and became the UFC’s third-youngest debutant when he squared off against Trevino. Many were expecting Northcutt, a child actor and model with peroxide blond hair and a ripped physique, to have his good looks beaten out of him as they predicted a publicity stunt that was going to fail. But the man who looks like a human Ken doll proved the doubters wrong with a debut win over Trevino and then followed that up with a victory over Cody Pfister, who he submitted in the second round at a fight night in December 2015. The UFC put the full weight of its promotional machine behind Northcutt, who looked like he was becoming the golden boy of the sport — at least in terms of marketability, if not necessarily championship-winning credentials. But it’s been a rapid fall from grace for the boy wonder. Despite his impressive record, there have always been question marks over Northcutt’s ability to go toe to toe with top-tier fighters when his natural athleticism isn’t enough. White seems to have put himself in that camp by encouraging Northcutt to go away and improve as a fighter, leaving the door open for him to return when he’s a more polished product. There are a few options for Northcutt as he contemplates life off the UFC books. He’s previously mentioned his interest in signing with Singapore’s ONE Championship or Bellator.

Let’s ho, ho, ho through the holidays and start 2019 off with a BANG”!!! It is hard to believe that 2018 is coming to an end! It’s been a year filled with lots of love and laughter and I plan to continue taking you down that same written road in the New Year. Here is a recap of some of the important things we discussed over the last 12 months. We kicked off the year with the virgin baby story. Yes, it is true. I know someone who actually got pregnant from “not” doing it! She was a 20 something virgin that got pregnant and had a baby from just messing around. If you ask me, I would be pretty pissed off if I got knocked up and didn’t even get off on it. That may be shallow to say, but it’s the truth. We talked about some fun Valentine’s Day ideas for you and your loved one, and learned how to get each other off during the holiday and the whole year through. We discussed 2-pump chumps, and if you are one how to get past it and be a lover with some stamina. No one wants a wham bam thank you mam, so cum correct! I discussed how important body language is for couples and suggested that couples that scream together stay together. Express yourself in the bedroom. It makes for less of a guessing game when it comes to what you and your partner like or don’t like in the bedroom. Let us not forget that oral sex is good for a woman’s health! What every man wants to hear. Semen entered into the body elevates mood levels. If you are
having a bad day, or just need to unwind, take one for the team, go down on your man and let him finish his business. It will literally make you feel good! We talked about the importance of using and losing your virginity. There may not be many virgins left in this world, but if you are one them, make sure you lose it wisely. Don’t settle, don’t just give it up. Wait for the right time and the right person. You will thank yourself later. I covered the highly anticipated NJ event of the year, Exxxotica. People travel from all over every November to experience the largest and longest running consumer adult event in the country. You can see it all here. Everything from the most mild to the most wild. It comes back bigger and better year after year. Now that the holidays are here, may I suggest some fun stocking stuffers, like some warming lubrication or edible underwear for her and maybe even a flesh light for your man? Couples toys are also all the craze right now and benefit both parties. Try a vibrating ring for both him and her. Let’s ho, ho, ho through the holidays and start 2019 off with a BANG!!!
