PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF. Chambers: I began my aviation career in 1980 at the Denver Stapleton Airport where I worked for ten years and then at the Dallas Love Field Airport. Since 1997, I have been honored to serve as Director of Aviation at Fort Dodge Regional Airport, Fort Dodge, IA. I have been active in statewide aviation activities including serving on the Board of Directors of the Iowa Public Airports Association (IPAA) for 25 years. I was selected to be an Ambassador for the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) headquartered in Washington DC managed by the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies of Science. Rhonda Chambers Director of Aviation, Fort Dodge Regional Airport
I am proud of the professional accomplishments throughout my years with the airport, such as receiving the airport’s first FAA Airport Safety Awards. I served the Iowa Department of Transportation, Office of Aviation, as a member on the Iowa Aviation Advisory Council and contributed to the State Aviation System Plan Updates in 2010 and am currently serving again on the 2021 aviation system plan update. I have enjoyed being politically active working on State and Federal aviation issues with legislative leaders in Des Moines and Washington, DC. I received the Presidential Award from IPAA in recognition of an individual’s dedication and outstanding service in the Iowa Aviation Community.
