Meet The Owens Revisited The Owens Family were initially featured in May/June 2008. on and Shirley Owens have been residents of Mesquite for over 30 years. Don graduated from Mesquite High School in 1989. Shirley graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1992. Don and Shirley were married in 1995. Don is the Sales Manager of a Tire Distribution Center. Shirley is the manager of their household. They have 4 children. Donovan (16) is the oldest who will be playing Varsity football at North Mesquite High. Dillon Owens (11) currently attends Lawrence elementary. Derrick (6) also attends Lawrence Elementary. The Owens are very active in the community with their boy’s. They splitt their time between Football ( Mesquite Hornets) and Baseball. Devin Dakota (3) just celebrated her third birthday. She was born with Larsen Syndrome. Larsen Syndrome is a rare bone and joint disorder. This disorder only affects approximately 1 in every 100,000 infants. She has been attending Scottish Rite Hospital since she was about 2 weeks old. The Owens document Devin’s disorder and progress in a blog.
