Thursday 24th July – Sunday 3rd August 2013 MERCHANT CITY FESTIVAL ‘GET INVOLVED’ PROGRAMME FUND The Merchant City Festival presents some of the best of Scottish and international art and entertainment with a programme of street arts, music, theatre, food & drink, visual art, film, comedy, dance, fashion & design, children & families activities and literature, while at the same time showcasing the unique cultural hub that is the Merchant City. The Merchant City Festival 2014 will take place from 24th July – 3rd August 2014, as part of the Festival 2014 celebrations, alongside the Commonwealth Games, when Glasgow will be highlighted on the world stage. MCF 2014 will be one of the ‘live zones’ around the city during Games time, providing entertainment for visitors and spectators on the streets and public spaces. The ‘Get Involved’ Fund exists for local businesses and organisations to programme something special for the Merchant City Festival. Your proposal should be for support for something different from your year-round programme of events. We are also prioritising applications for activities and events that take place in the streets and public spaces in the Merchant city, even if that is immediately outside your business base. Once again there will be a family zone on King St, Parnie St, Chisholm St and Osborne St, where there will be a range of family friendly activities and performances. Organisations and businesses in this area are encouraged to respond to this context when applying so they can be part of the overall family friendly, street based programme. The fund is likely to be highly competitive and submissions will be assessed on the basis of: • • •
