Light on Afterschool October 18, 4‐6pm Ingram‐Pye Elementary School Lights on Afterschool is an annual event hosted by LEAP and the Center for Leadership and Volunteerism. It is a national celebration of afterschool programs and gives elementary students a fun respite from their usual afterschool program.We are looking for groups to put together fun, interactive booths for students to enjoy that afternoon. Interested groups should email LEAP for more information or to register.Please provide the following information when registering: ‐Name of the group ‐A contact person and email address ‐What type of activity you will be doing Activities can be anything age‐appropriate (elementary‐age students); in the past some groups have done face painting, dizzy bat races, fishing for prizes, etc. BE CREATIVE!

Camp Twin Lakes “Camp to Go” Tuesday, November 6: Children's Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon Camp Twin Lakes is more than just overnight camps‐ we're taking Camp… To Go! CTL brings camp programs into children's hospitals throughout Georgia. Through Camp‐To‐Go in the hospitals, Camp Twin Lakes takes imaginative camp programs to patients and their siblings. The experience comes complete with an "indoor campfire" and s'mores! Find out more and register to volunteer!
Camp Wings November 2‐4, Fort Valley, GA Join Heart of Georgia Hospice in chaperoning a Bereavement camp for children and their families. Stop by their table in the student center on Tuesday or Thursday from 10‐2 or the CLV office for more information. Apply online to volunteer (Deadline: October 19). Carlyle Place will be collecting supplies for “goodie bags” to hand out to the homeless around the holidays. Supplies can be brought to Carlyle Place or the Center for Leadership and Volunteer office through the end of November. Necessary supplies: Trial size: Feminine Hygiene Products Small lap‐blankets 2‐gallon Ziploc bags Mouthwash **Hats Chapstick Pens * notepads Deodorant **Gloves Cough drops Toothpaste Shaving cream **Sweatshirt (size small—3x) Hard Candy—individually wrapped Toothbrush Kleenex packs **Socks (all sizes) Wash cloths **Due to gang affiliations ‐ we are asking that these items not be sent in the colors of red or blue.
