Under the statistic of UNHCR, nowadays
there are more than ten millions people
considered refugee. Most of them are
now settled in refugee camps in the
neighbor countries under very poor living
condition. Along Burmese-Thailand
border, approximately 150.000 Burmese
refugees are living in nine camps
with no better situation. This situations
makes me wonder...
Does architecture help to make a change
in people lives?.
In order to understand more about this
tragic world situation and try to answer
to my question, is born this project for a
study village in Mae La camp.
The target of this project to help the
most vulnerable group among the Burmese
refugee in Mae La: the children
that are,either, abandoned or orphan.
The design is a sustainable “village” inside
the refugee camp for this children,
in which they can be provided further
education, live-hood and also the emotional
and financial protection. Sustainable
