LIWAN Product Designer
The “House Wear” and the “Lounge wear” in LIWAN Paris-Beirut offer a new idea of the east. In Liwan every object is unique. Handmade. Inspired by the past. Adapted to the present. A lightened vision filled with innovation and modernity in terms of materials, cuts, colors. Twenty years of creation signed Lina Audi: a living and simplified version of forms, built upon an ancestral savoir-faire, that of the artisans of the Middle-East, and of Lebanon in particular. Traditional objects are transformed into modern pieces. Easy to wear, to carry, to adapt. They’re the bridge between the old and the new. They’re what are left when the pointless has been plucked out. For example, the Liwan Sandals that have made appearances all around the world… Liwan maintains its focus around the same constant: a dream without exotica, luxury without excess. The fusion of fashion and memory. One can’t find everything at Liwan, but what one does find is unique. LEBELIK Online Platform
Lebelik was founded on a vision that Lebanese quality, fashion and design could and should be available to everyone. With that in mind, twins and business partners Michel and Louise Doumet launched their venture in New York, in Spring 2011. The concept was simple – to help Lebanese designers share their work with people around the world. To build a community of fashion lovers that could come together on one platform that showcases Lebanese design. Now, three years later, Lebelik is home to over 60 of Lebanon’s most talented designers, and 2,500 of their creations. Inspired by the designers we work with, we came out with a completely new identity and web experience in 2014, to give Lebanese design the home it deserves. WORKSHOP FOR KIDS AT VILLA SURSOCK Lebelik is launching its Kids section in June. We would like to sponsor and organize arts & crafts workshops for children during Beirut Design Week. These workshops would be catered to different age groups (pre-teens, tweens, and teenagers), and interests (sartorial, craftsmanship, handicrafts).
